LIVE ONLINE. For the Minecraft enthusiast who has already mastered the foundations of Modding, this STEM Camp allows campers to take their Modding knowledge to the next level. Our campers will learn to create more advanced interactive mods such as animations, crops, and custom generated builds using Java programming Prerequisite: one or both of our Minecraft Modding camps (World Creation or Character Customizations). Some programming experience is recommended, but not required. WINDOWS OR MAC COMPUTERS ONLY.

Silicon STEM has partnered with StratusWorx to be able to provide a better and easier virtual experience for our students. StratusWorx allows your student to use a remote computer with the class software preinstalled and ready to go. Connecting to one of these computers is much simpler than installing and running all the software on your home computer. If your student would like to have their Minecraft Modding files on their own computer there is a section that goes over that. At the end of the week, students will be able to save their files to their home computers.
For Chromebook users it is necessary to use StratusWorx as the software we are using is incompatible with Chromebooks.
Using StratusWorx:
If your student is using a windows machine there is no setup necessary as Remote Desktop is included in all windows systems
If your student is using a Mac go to the app store download the Microsoft Remote Desktop App
If your student is using a Chromebook, the Chrome book must be new enough to use access apps through the Google Play Store. To check if your computer can run this camp go to this link and try and download the Remote Desktop app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.rdc.android&hl=en_US
Using a Personal Computer:
Disclaimer: If you choose to setup the Minecraft Modding files on your computer please make sure that it works before the first day of class.
