Dear parents or staff, my name is Kui. I am a recent graduate from University California of San Diego. I like working with children. During high school, I took a class in which I learned how to lesson plan, and worked with children ages 3-5. In my junior and senior years of high school, I have participated in tutoring elementary school children in Language Arts and Writing. In the summer of 2008, I had the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant in an elementary school's summer program. I had a great time with that job, not because I got paid, it was because I got the chance to work hands on with children and seeing their smiles and happiness is the greatest reward. I hope to have more opportunities to work with children.

I am new to tutoring, but English is my strength. I earned a 32 on the ACT (meaning I was in the 95th percentile of high school students.) I am a recent high school graduate, and I am entering college in the fall. I was homeschooled, and have experience "tutoring" my four younger siblings.

My experience with children includes being a full-time art teacher; however, I also taught elementary students grammar when I was a substitute teacher. I have been scoring scholastic tests, such as FCAT, New Jersey Writes, etc., for over 15 years and my reading and grammar skills are excellent.
