Hi! My name is Scott. I grew up one of three triplet brothers and I am a certified K-12 Special Education Teacher. My experience includes working with a wide range of students from those that have intellectual disabilities to those that are gifted. I am a triplet from Seattle where I graduated from the University of Washington and have my Masters in teaching with a perfect 4. 0 GPA. I have professional teaching experience including elementary, high school, and special education student populations. I also have experience caring for children from infants to high school age youth both privately and in my church as a caregiver. My tutoring has included a variety of age groups privately. I utilize learning style, pacing, and motivation strategies to guide my students in setting and reaching their goals. I teach and tutor many subjects but my strengths lie in math, reading, and test prep. My previous students have described my tutoring style as efficient and enjoyable. Let's get started!

Scott is a highly skilled professional and embodies the "warm demander" approach with my learner. After just a few months of working with Scott, there has been measurable growth, increased self-confidence, improved executive functioning skills, and as well as enthusiasm for their working sessions together whether in person or online to support math and literacy. Scott is steadfast in all areas- reliable, positive, patient, flexible and kind. We are so lucky to have his help and expertise!

Michael, M.Ed.

Michael, a Boston native, traveled to the Pacific Northwest many years ago by way of an oil leaking 1988 Nissan Stanza for the purpose of fish packing on Bristol Bay, fueled with college angst. Later, while slinging spandex as an inside sales rep for a Swedish apparel company, he volunteered teaching English. Jumping ship, he landed at culinary school. In this moment, he reflected on time spent teaching at night, read a few educational texts and gravitated towards Montessori. This began the full steam ahead transformation into full fledged Montessorian, a label he will maintain for the foreseeable future. He hopes to inspire a lifelong joy and curiosity in learning for the yutes of the world. His personal teaching philosophies include the Four Agreements, Servant Leadership, and Outward Bound ideals.

Michael is a family friend we've known for years. He's been friends with our grown children since they were all in high school. I sometimes consider him an extra son, so this review might seem biased. Michael is one of the most ethical, tenacious, and and serious-minded people you will ever meet. He has studied, worked hard and persisted in his career as a Montessori teacher. I have also watched him calmly play with our sometimes unruly grandchildren, and it's easy to see that he enjoys observing and bringing out the best in children. He has a great knack for listening and engaging them. He also possesses a laugh that is truly contagious.
