Suzi helped us out on very short notice for three days with my almost 4-year-old daughter. She was very professional and informative from the first message through the last day. My daughter was taken by her from the first visit and enjoyed being with her throughout the day. Suzi is engaging, creative, and caring. Moreover, she finds it important to understand the exact needs and expectations of the parents and then goes above and beyond in meeting them. So grateful to have had her help out. She is truly a gem.

I worked as a front desk agent for a total of 36 years so I have technically cared for people of all ages for a very long time. My job as a hotel worker abruptly came to an end as our hotel closed quite suddenly so I would like to do what I know how to do and that is take care of people just quite a bit younger. I have had the opportunity to care for a niece and nephew as newborns until they entered kindergarten. They were definitely nature lovers so we would spend quite a bit outside. At one point as they got older we would play a alphabet scavenger hunt, A for acorn, B for bird etc. I also had the opportunity of taking care of two little girls who were almost the same age but on opposite days. One came to my house and the other one I went to hers. There just happened to be duck ponds within walking distance to both homes so that was always fun. After these adventures we would often go back and color pictures of what we had seen, heard and done. Great way to use our senses.

I hired Stephanie to watch my toddler daughter several days a week when I went back to work. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful and amazing of a person she is. Stephanie is kind, genuine, thoughtful and loving. She would cook a healthy lunch for my child, took her to toddler music class, went on walks, feed animals, and even got my daughter to nap. I never had to worry when my daughter was in her care. My daughter loved spending time with her. My daughter is now in elementary school full-time but will always share a special bond with Stephanie. We will always be grateful for Stephanie as she made our days easier, less chaotic, and added more love.

FAQs for finding nannies

How much will it cost to hire a nanny?
The average rate for nannies on Care.com as of August, 2020 is $14.50 per hour. This rate will fluctuate depending on your location, the nanny's level of experience, and the number of children to be cared for. Other factors that may also influence the rate include specialized care, overnight care, or requesting your nanny to take additional responsibilities at home such as light housekeeping or meal prepping.
What types of nanny services can I find on Care.com?
Care.com has a wide variety of nannies with different levels of experience and skills. You can find nannies specialized in infant care or overnight nannies to help with your newborn while you sleep. There are nannies experienced in caring for toddlers or teenagers, bilingual nannies, live-in nannies, and even nannies who can help watching your kids while on vacation.
What to look for in a nanny?
The perfect nanny for you may not be the perfect nanny for another family. Outline your needs and what you think will work best in your home. Do your kids thrive with structure and schedules? Are you more interested in getting your kids outside or being creative? Do you have young children who need hands-on care? Being clear about what you need and what you are looking for will help you find the right nanny for you.
What should I ask a nanny during an interview?
In order to get to know if the candidate is a good fit, focus your interview questions around their experience as a nanny, their child care style and personality, their previous training and skills, payment expectation, as well as any specific requirements to be performed on the job. It is very common to schedule a paid trial where you can be present while they care for your children. This is a great way to find out if the nanny is a good match for your family and if your kids feel comfortable as well.
