Let's Make Distance Learning Fun!

Hi! I'm a passionate advocate for childhood education with a Master's in Teaching from USC and 10 years of experience in tutoring and educational enrichment programs. I've especially worked with K-6 students struggling in language arts and math to bring them up to grade level and beyond. I recently tutored a morning learning pod of elementary students, assisting them with distance learning, homework, and enrichment activities. I also tutor children in grades K-8 in the afternoons, both online and in person. I can collaborate with your child's school curriculum, as well as create supplemental lesson plans in all elementary subjects. My focus is on individualized instruction that integrates the latest learning methods and student interests. **By April 12 I will be fully vaccinated and able to offer in person tutoring. Covid safety protocols will still be followed, of course.**

Alicia is an amazing educator and a wonderful mentor to our daughter. We moved from a different state to a new school system with a much more rigorous curriculum. Our daughter struggled to keep up in the beginning but with Alicia's help, she was able to catch up and pull off decent grades for the rest of the year. Alicia also goes the extra mile by following up on assignments and planning out lessons to have the greatest impact. I endorse her without hesitation and look forward to continuing our relationship with her. She's the best!

A little about me: I am a former elementary education teacher and new author of the book "The Noisy Classroom." I have over 10 years of experience working with emergent learners (including general and special education students) inside of the classroom and over 15 years experience in education (as a curriculum specialist, reading specialist, tutor, and educational consultant). I taught using a Common Core curriculum but am a constructivist at heart. I have a Masters of Science in Education with a focus on elementary education literacy/curriculum and planning. I also also hold a Master's of Fine Arts in English/Creative Writing (I LOVE teaching reading/writing). At the moment I am a children's book author, freelance writer/editor, and educational consultant. Feel free to reach out and message me if you have any questions. *NOTE: I DO NOT OFFER NANNY SERVICES

We needed help with our 2nd grade, 7 year old twins who were participating in distant learning. Ms. Angela responded within minutes of my email to her and agreed to come over and meet us. She arrived at the agreed upon time, was wearing a mask and maintained social distance. Our twins took to her and we hired her. She was always prompt, communicative and helped our twins stay connected when it was quite challenging. I observed her teaching them skills specific to writing paragraphs as well as reading. Little tricks and tools that stuck with them. You know when your child says they like someone because they help them to understand the work- that person is a keeper. We highly recommended her.
