Hardworking and enthusiastic educator, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to cultivate working relationships within the school, parents and community. Able to create developmentally appropriate lesson plans for children around various themes. I graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Los Angeles City College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development from California State University, Los Angeles. I have a Master Teacher Permit from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. I am currently a Lead Teacher at a Preschool, while previously working as a Kindergarten Teacher Assistant within LAUSD. Teaching in various settings, such as Reggio and Montessori, has been a great opportunity to learn and gain further experience, utilizing my teaching skills and abilities. I enjoy learning various languages and experiencing different cultures, which is something wonderful that I can bring.

I felt very fortunate to have Amber taking care of my son. He absolutely adored her, as did my husband and I. Amber is such a positive person, and she has so much enthusiasm. She kept up with my very energetic toddler. I always noticed that she would remember conversations that both she and my son (and that we had)! These type of attention to detail and level of connection is one of the very special things about Amber that I loved. My son felt very loved, which as a parent, is priceless.

A little about me: I am a former elementary education teacher and new author of the book "The Noisy Classroom." I have over 10 years of experience working with emergent learners (including general and special education students) inside of the classroom and over 15 years experience in education (as a curriculum specialist, reading specialist, tutor, and educational consultant). I taught using a Common Core curriculum but am a constructivist at heart. I have a Masters of Science in Education with a focus on elementary education literacy/curriculum and planning. I also also hold a Master's of Fine Arts in English/Creative Writing (I LOVE teaching reading/writing). At the moment I am a children's book author, freelance writer/editor, and educational consultant. Feel free to reach out and message me if you have any questions. *NOTE: I DO NOT OFFER NANNY SERVICES

We needed help with our 2nd grade, 7 year old twins who were participating in distant learning. Ms. Angela responded within minutes of my email to her and agreed to come over and meet us. She arrived at the agreed upon time, was wearing a mask and maintained social distance. Our twins took to her and we hired her. She was always prompt, communicative and helped our twins stay connected when it was quite challenging. I observed her teaching them skills specific to writing paragraphs as well as reading. Little tricks and tools that stuck with them. You know when your child says they like someone because they help them to understand the work- that person is a keeper. We highly recommended her.

Hello. My name is Melissa. I am the 2020, "California Teacher of The Year" and am available, via video call, in the evening from 5-8 and all day on the weekends. I am available in person on the weekends. I am a current 4th/ 5th grade teacher. I LOVE what I do and love finding way's to help every student succeed. Does your child need help recovering from this year. Covid was hard on everyone, especially students. If your child needs 1 on 1 help catching up from this year, or you just want them to get a head start on next year, I am here to help. I have my Master's Degree in Education and graduated Magma Cum laude with a 4. 0 G. P. A. I am fully credentialed (K-6), and trained to teach students with disabilities, gifted students, and English learners. I am currently teaching a 4/5 combo. I can help your child with a specific topic of concern, or I can provide diagnostic assessments to identify their area of need and create an instructional plan tailored to them.

Melissa was the most amazing teacher I have ever worked with! My child could not keep up with zoom. He fell so far behind and was starting to doubt himself. She would meet with us once a week for two hours and in that short time helped my son more than his regular teacher did the entire week. Besides "knowing her stuff" she is very kind and my kids loved her. She was so easy to get along with. She even took my two sons on a few virtual field trips that were related to what their regular teacher was teaching in class. I wish could be their regular teacher every year!

I was born in Rome, Italy to a family of historians. I grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and attended the College of William & Mary, where I studied Neuroscience and Mathematics. Though deeply interested in scientific thought and processes, I remained fascinated by the murky, semi-charted waters between myth and history. I has tutored a variety of subjects both locally and internationally. I specializes in mathematics and standardized test prep. I was a National Merit Scholarship finalist and personally earned perfect scores in the mathematics/quantitative sections of the PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, and GRE tests, as well as the SAT Math II subject test. Of students that I have tutored, four have gone on to be National Merit finalists as well. I now studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where I am pursuing an MFA in screenwriting. I also coaches ultimate frisbee at LMU and Santa Monica High School.

Luke was my tutor for my Introduction to Astronomy course during my undergraduate education. I can confidently say that I would not have gotten an A in this course without him! He helped me to understand important underlying mathematics principles that I was struggling with during the course. Luke is very patient, kind, and able to meet me where I was academically. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor for anyone struggling with math or a student who just needs a little extra support.
