Experienced Teacher, Tutor, And Father
I come from a family of teachers, with my parents and sister all holding college professorships. I am also a PhD candidate in philosophical theology at Boston College, where I also have taught comparative religion, introduction to theology, and college writing skills. Previously, I was a National Merit Scholar at the University of Alabama and graduated from both my bachelors (Philosophy, Theology, and Liberal Arts) and my master s (Theology) Summa cum Laude.
I have tutored for more than 10 years, beginning with two years for School on Wheels at the Wellspring homeless shelter in Indianapolis. Prior to my doctoral studies, I also taught ESL in China for 2 years. I have been a paid, individual tutor for more than 10 children/young adults in: math, reading, writing, social studies, ESL, SAT/GRE prep, and the NCLEX nursing exam. Typically, my students see improvement of a letter grade or more.
I am also step-father to a 9 y. o. and have worked extensively with ADD children in tutoring.
