Talk Trekkers” Intro to Public Speaking Series (NO Prerequisites) This fun, high-energy, and highly interactive public speaking series is perfect for young speakers of all experience levels! Whether your child is a beginner or already has some public speaking experience, this 5-session, 5-class-hour course provides individualized feedback and tailored challenges to help them grow while having a blast! Students will receive class materials, including a detailed class packet, to support their learning and practice. This engaging Level 2 course is designed for students in grades 5–8 who are ready to build on their foundational skills and take their storytelling and public speaking to the next level. Students will develop more sophisticated stories, strengthen their writing and organization, and learn how to deliver their ideas with greater confidence, creativity, and impact. Classes are taught by a team of professional teaching artists with years of experience in the classroom and on professional stages and feature a customized curriculum designed to challenge and showcase the strengths of each young performer while helping prepare them to participate in our mainstage musical this Spring. Each week, your child will participate in acting games, choreography rehearsal, and vocal coachings as they learn scenes and songs from Broadway Musicals that they will perform onstage for family and friends at the end of the semester. Auditions at Stages are designed to be a low stress, fun experience. Middle School Musical students get the chance to do a comprehensive audition process complete with 32 bar cut vocal audition, dance call, cold reads, and callbacks. Casting will be done traditionally with 1-2 actors playing each role. EVERY CHILD WILL BE GIVEN A ROLE IN THE SHOW. We will work together with children to make sure they have a role. that they are excited to perform! --Weeks 3-11 (Sep 21 - Nov 21): Putting It Together-- During Weeks 3-9, the cast will participate in weekly rehearsals. During these classes, we will focus on character development, blocking the show, learning choreography and music. --Weeks 12-14 (Nov 30 - Dec 19): Prepping for Opening Night-- During Weeks 12-14, the cast will begin running doing “Run Thrus” where they perform the show from start to finish. We’ll also start adding in transitions so performers know when and how to enter/exit the stage, when to get microphones, make a costume change, or pick up a prop from the prop table. High School Public Speaking & Interview Weekend Bootcamp A 2-Session High School Speaking Intensive Confidence. Clarity. Charisma. And a whole lot of YOU. Come along as we help the Queendom's faithful mail carrier, Pack Rat, with all of his magical mail deliveries! There are some familiar addresses, and some less familiar.. but he's never let a letter go undelivered and won't start now! Please remember to pack a water bottle, nut-free lunch and a yummy snack (or2!). Drop off: 9am - 9:30am Pickup: 2:30pm - 3pm Refund Policy: Please note that we have a no refund policy. Full credits will be issued for anything with a 4 week notice and can be used for any future Rabbit Hole activity. After 4 weeks we are unable to credit. If your child is sick or you need to miss a day of camp we will have a camp bag ready for you at the studio. This bag will be filled with enchanted projects, art materials, audio and video links and anything your kiddo might be missing in class.
