Talk Trekkers” Intro to Public Speaking Series (NO Prerequisites) This fun, high-energy, and highly interactive public speaking series is perfect for young speakers of all experience levels! Whether your child is a beginner or already has some public speaking experience, this 5-session, 5-class-hour course provides individualized feedback and tailored challenges to help them grow while having a blast! Students will receive class materials, including a detailed class packet, to support their learning and practice. In each lively, engaging class, students will: LEARN - Learn and improve on the fundamentals of effective public speaking and explore different styles of speaking; - Learn to reduce and manage public speaking anxiety and nervousness; - Learn to implement DAILY positive public speaking and communication habits; - Learn to structure and improve their writing skills; - Understand the differences in various types of public speaking, such as persuasive, informative, storytelling, and conversational skills. This engaging Level 2 course is designed for students in grades 5–8 who are ready to build on their foundational skills and take their storytelling and public speaking to the next level. Students will develop more sophisticated stories, strengthen their writing and organization, and learn how to deliver their ideas with greater confidence, creativity, and impact. Broadway Stars was created by a professional performer turned child development specialist with the primary goal of helping children develop the foundational skills and technique every musical theater performer needs while giving them the opportunity to find their voice, build confidence, and do what every budding Broadway Star loves most: PERFORM! Classes are taught by a team of professional teaching artists with years of experience in the classroom and on professional stages and feature a customized curriculum designed to challenge and showcase the strengths of each young performer while helping prepare them to participate in our mainstage musical this Spring. Each week, your child will participate in acting games, choreography rehearsal, and vocal coachings as they learn scenes and songs from Broadway Musicals that they will perform onstage for family and friends at the end of the semester. Whether your child is destined for the lights of Broadway or simply loves to perform with their friends, this class will spark their creativity and give them the confidence to shine both onstage and off! *While participation in our Fall Semester is not required to enroll in our Spring Production classes, it is strongly encouraged. *Our Fall Finale will take place on a weeknight the week of December 14. Highest Squeakers: Introduction to Storytelling A five-session adventure for kindergarten and first grade! Little voices, big imaginations! In this playful introduction to storytelling, children will practice speaking confidently about themselves, explore how emotions bring stories to life, and learn basic story structure: a beginning, middle, and end. They’ll create their own stories and perform them for the class, discovering the joy of sharing their ideas with an audience. Each session includes fun games, imaginative activities, plenty of speaking practice, and encouraging feedback. Along the way, students will build confidence and practice Highest Speak’s key fundamentals, including clear voices, expressive delivery, and eye contact. Our small group classes always have two to three instructors, ensuring every child receives plenty of individual attention, encouragement, and feedback to help them grow. In this inclusive class, the students will begin learning the basics of musical theater. The class will strengthen their creativity with theater based activities and games. They will practice things like auditioning, learning lines, projecting on stage, creating a character, and performing a solo. They will apply these lessons by rehearsing musical theater pieces together. At the end of the session, the students will perform the pieces they’ve worked on throughout the class! e The price for this class is $300 per student (includes non refundable $25 admin fee, and non-refundable online processing fee). This price includes 11 after school classes and participation in final show! The tuition does not include additional costume fees or reserved ticket fees. In this 5-session, high-energy course, students will: - Strengthen speech organization and clarity with more complex prompts - Learn how to deliver longer speeches confidently and how to use notecards to prepare effectively instead of memorizing - Master confident delivery techniques including tone, pacing, gestures, and eye contact - Craft stronger openings, memorable closings, and smooth transitions - Explore more advanced speech types—persuasive, informative, motivational, and storytelling - Participate in challenging impromptu speaking activities - Receive in-depth instructor feedback and practical tips for growth - Present in every class, both prepared and off-the-cuff. This camp will combine the role playing adventure of 5 edition dungeons and dragons with specialized games and activities to create a fun and immersive role play experience. Players will create their own characters, costumes welcomed and encouraged, and take them on adventures in Playformance with our amazing dungeon master team. Games will revolve around quick, one shot adventures or experiences with different dungeon master's along with classic Playformance games featuring a fantasy twist. No experience in D&D is required as our DM team will guide you through the experience and give you the tools to become your character! Feel free to bring your own D&D dice if you'd like but not required. Whether you're an experienced veteran or an eager newbie, this camp will bring you on a D&D adventure you'll never forget!
