Our Pottery Classes at The Atelier School of Art provide a hands-on experience in clay sculpting and ceramics, tailored to different age groups and skill levels. The Middle School Digital Animation class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 11-13, focusing on expanding animation skills using iPads and Procreate Dreams. Students dive into keyframe animation, character design, storyboarding, and visual storytelling, exploring how to create compelling animations from start to finish. The Process Art class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 3-5, designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and sensory engagement. This class focuses on the experience of making art rather than the final product, allowing young artists to experiment with colors, textures, and materials in a fun and hands-on environment. Through painting, collage, and mixed media activities, children develop fine motor skills, confidence, and a love for creative expression.

Our staff guides students step by step through a painting, making it easy for everyone to create their own artwork. With loose, organic strokes, anyone who can hold a brush can succeed. Techniques are taught to help students practice at home. 90 minutes.

Advanced Art: Autumn Series Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:30 PM Celebrate the beauty of the season in this four-week advanced art class focused on autumnal themes. Students will explore color, texture, and composition through a variety of mediums while drawing inspiration from fall landscapes, changing leaves, and seasonal light. Each session will build toward the creation of a final, refined autumn-themed painting. Dive into a magical week of sea life! From seashells and sandcastles to mermaids and starfish, campers will explore all the wonders of the ocean through hands-on creativity and imagination. This week, your child will bring home starfish sculptures, canvas paintings, and beautiful ocean-inspired illustrations—plus a few surprise seashell treasures we can’t wait to share! Join us for a wave of fun and creativity!

Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

This week we are experimenting with application as we mimic the influential American artist Helen Frankenthaler. Inventor of the soak stain technique, Frankenthaler pushed the boundaries of color field painting in abstract expressionism. So to celebrate this marvelous approach, we too will be pouring paint instead of using brushes! Students will have the opportunity to explore color mixing as we learn about the color wheel and its various approaches. Then, we will give each concoction a chance to shine as it gets cascaded over the canvas in a spectacular free fall.

There’s no place like… The Giggling Pig! Join us for a dazzling painting of Dorthy’s famous ruby slippers. Students will practice form as they recreate this iconic accessory, discussing concepts of color and contrast to implement a triadic color scheme. With a click of the heels and a sprinkle of glitter, students will follow this yellow brick road to a masterpiece of their own making.

HOME IS WHERE THE ART IS Come join us for a morning of fun and painting! At this camp your child will paint a house to hang in a tree for a bird or put in a fairy garden. House will be painted with your child's own creative design. Bird and Fairy Houses provided by the Art House! Your child will come home with a completed work of art. LET'S GOGH! Join us for an afternoon of art inspiration, creativity and fun! At this camp your child will design a painting inspired by what Van Gogh's self portrait would look like as a dog. This project is made with acrylic paint on canvas board. Campers learn about art, get their creative juices flowing, and have fun creating their own work of art.
