Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and and just plain fun! Each week we offer a variety of different media projects (acrylic painting, watercolor, plaster sculpture, mixed media, collage, printmaking, and more!). Projects change each week making it easy for campers to attend multiple weeks of camp without repeating projects, but further exploring the range and depth of mediums. We ensure a good balance between 2D and 3D projects, so whether your young artists prefers to build things and be hands on, paint, draw, or print things they'll be more than pleased! Our camps are not only fun, but an opportunity for young artists to explore art mediums that they typically do not get in school, education in art terminology and art history (including current artists). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Each session we will focus on a new medium , creating amazing works throughout the 4 weeks. This is an introduction to artistic forms and skill-building within many mediums, creating frameworthy fun projects throughout the year. This week we are experimenting with application as we mimic the influential American artist Helen Frankenthaler. Inventor of the soak stain technique, Frankenthaler pushed the boundaries of color field painting in abstract expressionism. So to celebrate this marvelous approach, we too will be pouring paint instead of using brushes! Students will have the opportunity to explore color mixing as we learn about the color wheel and its various approaches. Then, we will give each concoction a chance to shine as it gets cascaded over the canvas in a spectacular free fall.

There’s no place like… The Giggling Pig! Join us for a dazzling painting of Dorthy’s famous ruby slippers. Students will practice form as they recreate this iconic accessory, discussing concepts of color and contrast to implement a triadic color scheme. With a click of the heels and a sprinkle of glitter, students will follow this yellow brick road to a masterpiece of their own making.

We’re diving into the vibrant world of famous artists and their masterpieces. Campers will be painting on canvas, Illustrating in their own unique style, taking fun daily quizzes and learning about art through the lens of global culture. The Flippin' Fun: Gymnastics Skill Clinics - Bars, Floor, Beam, Vault, Trampoline, Tumbl Trak, & more Arts & Crafts: Painting, Drawing, Friendship Bracelets, & more Urban Gardening & Horticulture: Vegetable harvesting, Garden care, & Nutrition Outdoor Water Activities: Slip n' Slide, Sprinkler, and Water Balloons Ages 3-4.5 Tuesday & Thursday 9am-12:30pm Drop in or sign up for the session Camp Checklist! It's fun & and students get a chance to delve into their creative selves without crazy time restraints. Students will also get to Tie Dye an All Things Art Studio Camp Shirt (or other item for repeat campers) on Day 1! (included in the fee of camp). In the mornings, they will be working on individual projects, and the afternoon art academy will give them a relaxed but focused exercise in fine arts. There will be landscape drawing and painting, and still life exploration. We explore drawing, clay, printmaking, textiles, weaving, watercolor, acrylics, tempera paint, glazing & more! We will work with canvas, clay, watercolor, tissue paper and many other types of medium as well. Every camp is a different curriculum, so please register for as many as you can :) It's an amazing week for students, they meet and make new art friends and enjoy the warm summer weather. Bring a sack lunch each day and a water bottle, We will have outdoor lunch & walk in the neighborhood- plus outdoor "en plain air" instruction in their daily journal/ sketchbook. Bring it on! Some of our Elementary, Middle School and High School groups will be offered at the same times & days (convenient for families with older & younger children). But the Camps will be separated by the groups and have different curriculum and locations within the studio. (MS/HS have a seperate registration with separate curriculum)

LOOKS DELICIOUS Join us for an afternoon of yummy looking art! At this camp your child will paint a cupcake in the style of artist Wayne Thiebaud using acrylic paint on canvas board. HOME IS WHERE THE ART IS Come join us for a morning of fun and painting! At this camp your child will paint a house to hang in a tree for a bird or put in a fairy garden. House will be painted with your child's own creative design. Bird and Fairy Houses provided by the Art House! Your child will come home with a completed work of art. Join us for a beautiful acrylic painting class inspired by the bright red cardinal — a symbol of love, hope, and someone watching over us. In this guided step-by-step class, young artists will create their own stunning cardinal on canvas while learning blending, layering, and texture techniques with acrylic paint. Each child will leave with a meaningful masterpiece families will treasure for years to come.

During this week campers get to enjoy a different ceramic and slime daily. Although there are options to take part in painting on canvas instead. ​ We know going home we so many slimes and ceramics can be overwhelming - so we have you covered. From fluffy slime to glow in the dark and snow slime - we will keep the campers day filled with exciting activities!

IN THE ART GARDEN Join us for an afternoon of creativity, exploration, and fun! At this camp your child will paint a colorful background on canvas. While that dries we will paint wood butterflies to glue onto their background, creating a beautiful and unique piece of art. Your child will come home with a completed work of art. Step into a world of color and wonder. Campers will imagine magical lands for their fairies, unicorns, and mermaids, then bring them to life through painting, building, and storytelling. It’s a week filled with creativity, friendship, and plenty of fairy dust. Please review our camp refund policy below: 100% refund for cancellations made within 24 hours of registration. All enrollments include a non-refundable 20% deposit. Cancellations made 30+ days before the camp start date: refund minus the 20% deposit. Cancellations made within 30 days of the camp start date: No refund unless we can fill your spot, in which case you’ll receive camp credit minus the 20% deposit. All cancellation requests must be sent in writing via email. Transfers to another camp week may be requested (based on availability). A 20% fee applies for transfers requested within 30 days of the original camp week.

We will take your child step by step through a painting breaking it down for all to follow. With a very loose and organic stroke everyone who can pick up a paint brush will be able to recreate their very own work of art with our staff's guidance. During the process our staff will educate everyone on technique which will help them to be able to walk away with the ability to practice at home. During each session the children will be able to break for snacks and drinks to help make their time even more fun!
