Through hands-on lessons, students will learn essential tools, brushes, layers, and digital techniques while creating original artwork and building a strong foundation in digital illustration. Designed for students ages 9.5–12 who are new to digital art or have little formal class experience, Beginning Digital Art emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and core digital art skills. Small class sizes provide plenty of personalized instruction and one-on-one support. At the end of the session, students will receive a professionally printed item featuring one of their favorite digital creations. Join us for a Winter Wonderland week of camp! We will be creating canvas art, snow slime, paintings, ceramics and more!

Satisfy your curiosity, and experience a fun and thorough introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more in this exciting introduction to throwing fundamentals. Your instructor guides you through the process of throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel. Special handbuilding projects will also included.   Basic surface decoration and glazing techniques are also demonstrated. This class is designed for students any level experience on the potter’s wheel.  Those who have more experience will complete more pieces/ advanced techniques. Those learning will master the basic skills to create wheel thrown pieces. Register for all classes, as we will build on experience of the students.  

Pre-K children- on their own (ages 4-6), are taught to explore their imagination through art. Experience a variety of materials used to produce your weekly seasonal masterpiece. We encourage the use of fingers, hands, exploring with unlikely tools (painting with race cars, leaves, toothbrushes & more), and sometimes a mess! This class is designed for kindergarten through 2nd grade aged children to help them learn and develop fine motor skills through creating art! Class Description:
This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. Critique & Feedback: Receive constructive feedback from the instructor and peers in a supportive and open environment to enhance their artistic process and growth. Once a month CHS stays open after dark for a relaxed, social evening of art, pizza, and friends — while grown-ups get a night of their own! This month artists will learn 4 different painting techniques mixed to create one wonderful radial composition. Our first layer is an exploration of watercolor, blending wet on wet and creating pattern. We'll eat pizza while it dries. Then we'll jump in with tempera learning to create texture and add details with an opaque layer. We'll wind down with art films before the night ends at 8:45. Mixed ages 5–10. Little ones get more help and big kids get more room to run with it. This one isn't from our regular class curriculum — weekly students won't be repeating anything they've done.
