Painting Classes in Oakland, CA

Once a month CHS stays open after dark for a relaxed, social evening of art, pizza, and friends — while grown-ups get a night of their own! This month artists will learn 4 different painting techniques mixed to create one wonderful radial composition. Our first layer is an exploration of watercolor, blending wet on wet and creating pattern. We'll eat pizza while it dries. Then we'll jump in with tempera learning to create texture and add details with an opaque layer. We'll wind down with art films before the night ends at 8:45. Mixed ages 5–10. Little ones get more help and big kids get more room to run with it. This one isn't from our regular class curriculum — weekly students won't be repeating anything they've done.
