This year, in "Art Around the World", we will study 8 artists from around the globe. Our fine art projects will include drawing in graphite and colored pencil; painting in acrylic and watercolor; sculpting in foam clay; blending with oil pastels; scratch board; as well as mixed and multi-media work. Sign up for each week- we have a new curriculum each week! Kids will enjoy 4 hours of Art and Art related Activities! Day Camp is a drop off program & for ages 4 and older. Each day includes a variety of Cookies & Canvas event, One Day Workshop, OR Pottery Painting & Open Studio time. Most projects will go home same day. (If they have pottery painting that day, they will need to be picked up following week) Kids enjoy stations as well as several art projects during their 4 hours of fun at the Art Studio! Groups separated by age under K-4 grades, 5-8 grades. Bring peanut free sack lunch, snack & water bottle. Please dress for the weather- as we do take a walk in the neighborhood and eat in the garden on days when we can.

This week we’re learning all about the nature artist Rosa Bonheur. Students will study value and light as they recreate this famous artist's “king of the Forest” painting in graphite.

Winter Break Camp at The Giggling Pig! Keep the creativity going during winter break with a week of art, fun, and hands-on activities! Campers will spend their days creating a variety of winter-inspired projects while exploring different art materials, techniques, and creative styles. From painting and drawing to crafts, sculptures, and plenty of seasonal surprises, each day will bring something new to create. Class Description:
This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. Critique & Feedback: Receive constructive feedback from the instructor and peers in a supportive and open environment to enhance their artistic process and growth. Who This Class Is For: Both new and continuing students. Teens ages 12-17 who are eager to create art more independently but want guidance, structure, and inspiration from a teacher. Students interested in experimenting with different art forms and techniques. Young artists who want to develop their skills and explore personal projects.

Fall Semester Session One (August-October) Exercise the imagination and build creativity at the Art House. This class is designed for Kindergarten through 2nd grade aged children to help them learn and develop fine motor skills through creating art! Your child will practice using scissors, holding a pencil and paint brush, and much more through drawing, painting, and sculpting. Students produce a variety of projects with various mediums and subjects in order to learn different techniques and skills in creating art. Classes are limited in sizes so sign your child up today!

In this fun and interactive art class, students will dive into three exciting art projects, each one offering a new way to express creativity! Throughout the session, we’ll focus on key art terminology, build essential techniques, and introduce a bit of art history to inspire our work. Whether it’s drawing, painting, or sculpting, students will have a blast experimenting while sharpening their hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and gaining confidence in their mark-making. Each class is a new adventure in creativity while developing their three different projects and unique approaches to each medium. This helps kids keep building on what they learn and explore new ways to create! Every session is designed to help them build confidence and have fun while discovering the exciting world of art! With our small 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio, each child gets plenty of individual attention to help them grow and succeed. Each morning and afternoon, campers will complete a brand-new guided canvas painting, learning step-by-step how to create vibrant, colorful works of art they’ll be proud to display. Throughout the week, artists will experiment with brushwork, blending, layering, and creative expression as they paint a variety of themes from animals and landscapes to seasonal scenes and imaginative designs. Our instructors break each painting into simple, fun-to-follow steps, ensuring success for every skill level while leaving plenty of room for personal flair. By the end of the week, campers will have a full gallery of completed canvases and the confidence that comes from learning real painting skills. It's art camp at Key to My Art!!! Each week is a new theme, each day is a new project! You can book flexibly to meet your scheduling needs! Art camp is taught by certified teachers, so your child will be having fun while being creative and learning (yes, we sneak it in painlessly) in a safe environment run by individuals who have been trained to work with children and have a Master's degree in education. Ms. Kampson is a tenured art teacher in North Babylon School District, Ms. Katelyn is a certified art teacher at Bayshore High school, and Ms. Riesa is the owner of Key to My Art - a NYS certified teacher and licensed art therapist! Camp will last 2 hours. Your child may bring a light snack and a water bottle. Try to avoid sending your child with any food that contains peanuts - but if you do, please notify the instructor. Book 10 or more days and save 10%, making 2 hours just $40 (less than a babysitter!) Monday - Mixed Media (mixture of different supplies - collages, drawing/painting, glue, scissors, oil pastels, etc) Tuesday - Anything Goes! (Surprise media - may be anything from crafty projects to canvas painting.) Wednesday - Drawing (pencils, crayons, markers, pastels, etc) Thursday - Painting (watercolor, acrylic, etc) Please make sure you read through all of our agreements before checking out. Once you book, we do not offer refunds for any circumstances. In the case that your child is sick or something else comes up, you can swap days - just notify us by EMAIL. All credits must be used by the last day of camp.

Designed for young artists who are ready to move beyond the basics, Art Club offers more time to explore techniques, experiment with materials, and take on thoughtfully designed creative challenges. Throughout the session, artists will work with a variety of mediums—including painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, clay, and more. We’ll begin building foundational art skills while encouraging personal style, creative decision-making, and plenty of imaginative exploration. Each project will be guided but open-ended, giving artists the freedom to make their work truly their own. This class is a wonderful fit for kids who love creating and are ready to develop their skills in a supportive, process-focused studio environment. 90 minutes. Ages 4-12.

***Enjoy the fun of Open Gym + we open our Art Studio for children to explore too! Sculpting, painting, collaging and sensory play! Play and create in the studio + enjoy free play on the playfloor.
