You don't have to be a pro to create beautiful art! All it takes is some practice, patience, and inspiration to create something magnificent. For my age 10+ KVArteests, we work in oil paints on projects each artist chooses with my input. This is a class for those with enough art experience or can-do attitude to work largely independently.

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) "Every child is an artist"-Pablo Picasso. Discover the artist in your child! In this class your child will refine their fine motor skills as they learn to draw, paint, and sculpt, while also learning a little art history. Students produce a variety of projects with various mediums and subjects in order to learn different techniques and skills in creating art. Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up today!

Our Pottery Classes at The Atelier School of Art provide a hands-on experience in clay sculpting and ceramics, tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Younger students (ages 6 and up) will focus on basic hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coiling, and slab construction, helping them develop foundational skills in working with clay. Older students will have the opportunity to explore more advanced techniques, including wheel-throwing, glazing, and surface decoration. With guidance from experienced instructors, students will create unique, functional, and decorative pieces while learning about form, texture, and craftsmanship. Whether learning the basics or refining their technique, students in our pottery program will gain confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for the art of ceramics in a fun and supportive environment!

The High School Art class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session designed for teens looking to develop and refine their artistic skills. This class explores advanced techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media, with an emphasis on composition, perspective, color theory, and conceptual development. Students are encouraged to experiment with different styles and mediums while building a strong portfolio that reflects their personal artistic growth and vision.

The Middle School Digital Animation class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 11-13, focusing on expanding animation skills using iPads and Procreate Dreams. Students dive into keyframe animation, character design, storyboarding, and visual storytelling, exploring how to create compelling animations from start to finish. This class nurtures creativity and technical skills, preparing students for more advanced animation techniques and projects.

This year, in "Art In Nature", we will study 8 artists who are famous for their depictions of nature. Our fine art projects will include drawing in graphite and colored pencil; painting in acrylic and watercolor; sculpting in foam clay; blending with oil pastels; scratch board; as well as mixed and multi-media work. SCHOOL READINESS GROUP Led by Ms. Paula — M.Ed. in Education & Special Education | 18+ Years of Experience This small group is designed to help young children (ages 2–5) build essential early learning skills in a fun and nurturing environment. Through hands-on activities, stories, songs, and play-based learning, students develop foundational skills in: - Early literacy (letters, sounds, vocabulary) - Basic math (counting, shapes, patterns) - Fine motor skills (cutting, drawing, building) Perfect for children preparing to enter preschool or kindergarten, this class supports school readiness while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning! Advanced Art: Autumn Series Thursdays, 4:30 – 6:30 PM Celebrate the beauty of the season in this four-week advanced art class focused on autumnal themes. Students will explore color, texture, and composition through a variety of mediums while drawing inspiration from fall landscapes, changing leaves, and seasonal light. Each session will build toward the creation of a final, refined autumn-themed painting. Perfect for experienced young artists looking to deepen their skills and create a cohesive, beautiful piece over time.

Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Enjoy fun-filled, creative summer camps filled with arts and crafts. Each week will have different projects! Our projects will include: creating a book of art over 5 days; painting a multi-step masterpiece; drawing landscapes, cartoons, and more; sculpting with wire, clay, and other materials. Our days will include two breaks to get out and be active and have your brought-from-home snacks. Focusing on composition, color theory, and values, this class allows students to experiment with various medium techniques, including clay, watercolor, mixed media, acrylic, and tempera. 60 minutes. Ages 4-6. THIS WEEK: We’re starting a wild rumpus this week for Maurice Sendack, a beloved children's book illustrator best known for his work “Where the Wild Things Are”. One of the most celebrated authors in children's book history, Sendak is credited for pioneering a more realistic portrayal of childhood and the scope of children's emotions. Students will focus on line and form with this illustrative ink drawing inspired by Sendack’s detailed and expressive style. Encouraging storytelling through images, they will have the opportunity to add their own embellishments as they depict this playful monster. Dress for a mess!
