Designed for young artists who are ready to move beyond the basics, Art Club offers more time to explore techniques, experiment with materials, and take on thoughtfully designed creative challenges. Throughout the session, artists will work with a variety of mediums—including painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, clay, and more. We’ll begin building foundational art skills while encouraging personal style, creative decision-making, and plenty of imaginative exploration. Each project will be guided but open-ended, giving artists the freedom to make their work truly their own. This class is a wonderful fit for kids who love creating and are ready to develop their skills in a supportive, process-focused studio environment.

Let your child’s imagination come to life in this fun and inspiring weekly art class! Each session features a new theme and introduces young artists to a variety of materials, techniques, and creative styles. From painting and drawing to mixed media projects, children will explore, create, and express themselves in exciting new ways. Our thoughtfully designed, multi-step projects help develop fine motor skills, creativity, and confidence—while encouraging each child’s unique artistic voice. SPECIAL EVENT / DISCOUNTED PRICING: We are opening up our After-School Art Enrichment Program to drop-ins for the Early Release Day for a special rate of $90. This is a great opportunity to try it out and see for yourself if it might be right for your child. On Early Release Days (when the children arrive at 11:30am), we ask you to please pack a nut-free lunch for your child. We do not provide lunches. DROP-OFF: Drop off is at 11:30am on early release days. Please use the Art Studio entrance on Waterfield Road (directly to the right of the Pottery Studio). PICK-UP by 6pm: At pick up time, please use the Art Studio door. You may pick up your child at any time during the program. If you will be arriving for pickup before 5pm, please let us know at drop off or email us at info@studioonthecommon.com to let us know. We will be sure to pack up your child's belongings and get them ready for you to pick up.

This year, in "Art Around the World", we will study 8 artists from around the globe. Our fine art projects will include drawing in graphite and colored pencil; painting in acrylic and watercolor; sculpting in foam clay; blending with oil pastels; scratch board; as well as mixed and multi-media work. Class Description:
This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. Critique & Feedback: Receive constructive feedback from the instructor and peers in a supportive and open environment to enhance their artistic process and growth. Who This Class Is For: Both new and continuing students. Teens ages 12-17 who are eager to create art more independently but want guidance, structure, and inspiration from a teacher. Students interested in experimenting with different art forms and techniques. Young artists who want to develop their skills and explore personal projects.

The Young Artist class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session designed for kids ages 5-8. This class introduces young learners to the fundamentals of art through fun, hands-on projects that explore color, shape, texture, and composition. Using a variety of materials, students build confidence in their creativity while developing fine motor skills and artistic expression in a supportive, engaging environment.

The Adult Studio Art class at The Atelier School of Art is designed for artists of all skill levels, from beginners looking to explore creativity to experienced artists wanting to refine their techniques. This class covers drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media, with personalized guidance to help each student develop their artistic style. Students will learn composition, color theory, perspective, and various artistic techniques while working with different mediums such as acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and pastels. Whether you’re looking to build foundational skills, expand your creative practice, or simply enjoy a relaxing artistic experience, this class provides a supportive and inspiring environment to grow as an artist.
