Unlocking Creativity Through Core Art Foundations Our Elementary Art Education Program is designed to foster creativity and build essential skills through a sequential and cyclical curriculum. By progressively exploring the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, students not only learn art techniques but also develop a deep appreciation for art history. Here's what our young artists will explore: Foundational Concepts: Dive into the Elements of Art and Principles of Design to create visually compelling pieces. Drawing Skills: From observational and perspective drawing to life and figure sketches, students refine their ability to represent the world around them. Students will explore a diverse range of dry media, including graphite, oil pastels, chalk pastels, charcoal, and ink. Composition and Color: Learn the intricate concepts of 2D composition and color theory to enhance artistic expression. Painting Techniques: Experiment with various media such as acrylics, watercolors, gouache, learning manipulation techniques that bring ideas to life. Art History: Travel through time exploring influential artists, both historical and contemporary, to understand their impact on the art world and society. Authentic Assessment: Engage in assessments that reflect real-world art critique, helping students evaluate and elevate their art. Spring Semester (Mid March-May) Exercise the imagination at the Art House. This class is designed for kindergarten through 2nd grade aged children to help them learn and develop fine motor skills through creating art! Your child will practice using scissors, holding a pencil and paint brush, and much more through drawing, painting, and sculpting. Students produce a variety of projects with various mediums and subjects in order to learn different techniques and skills in creating art. Classes are limited in sizes so sign your child up today!

Spring Semester (Mid March-May) This course is tailored to support teenagers in building robust drawing and painting skills and creating a comprehensive portfolio. Through this course, they will master a range of painting techniques, refine their skills, and explore art history. Students are encouraged to nurture their individuality and creativity while examining different mediums, styles, and artists. To reinforce their skills, students will receive practice assignments to complete at home throughout the week. Classes are limited in size, so sign up your tween today!

Satisfy your curiosity, and experience a fun and thorough introduction to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more in this exciting introduction to throwing fundamentals. Your instructor guides you through the process of throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel. Special handbuilding project and casting will also included. Basic surface decoration and glazing techniques are also demonstrated. This class is designed for students any level experience on the potter’s wheel. Those who have more experience will complete more pieces/ advanced techniques. Those learning will master the basic skills to create wheel thrown pieces. Register for all classes, as we will build on experience of the students. During our last class, we will meet the last 10-15 minutes of class for an Art Show Presentation. Students will showcase their pieces in an art show to guests. Parents- Invite grandparents, friends and family. All pieces go home the last day of class. Such a fun way for students to share what they have learned through process and design. Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. Projects are new every session, so sign-up for both June and July sessions. Our Last Class we will have student presentations the last 15 minutes of class. Please bring a bag and some towels, paper to wrap all of your treasures and take home.

It provides a consistent, year-round art education journey for students. Jump in anytime! Class Requirements Age Requirement: Artists must be at least 4 years old to enroll in PreK-1st classes. Bathroom Independence: Children must be fully independent in using the bathroom to attend classes without adult supervision. If a child requires assistance in the bathroom, a parent or guardian must be present during the class.

In Drawing/Painting Class we will create a variety of fine art projects focusing on technique and style, composition, brushwork, and systematic practice. KVArteest will give input on our subject matter, as we together decide what we want to learn.

During drawing and painting, your child will learn the basics of drawing and painting. Our intermediate and advanced students will build upon previous skills and work on longer-term projects.

This year, in "Art In Nature", we will study 8 artists who are famous for their depictions of nature. Our fine art projects will include drawing in graphite and colored pencil; painting in acrylic and watercolor; sculpting in foam clay; blending with oil pastels; scratch board; as well as mixed and multi-media work.
