Explore the world of making your own clay creations! This class will teach you how to create several hand-built clay pieces. Students will be introduced to Kiln firing, and procedures, as well as stages of clay: Wet, Greenware, Bisqueware, and more. Each student will custom glaze each project, and have all pieces fired in our kiln. Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. Projects are new every session, so sign-up for all sessions OR our school program for discounted rate.

Fall Semester Session Two (October-December) This class is recommended for ages 12+ who have a basic knowledge of drawing, and some experience with digital art. Explore the vast world of imagination and visual storytelling using technology to create art. Watch your work come to life as you learn different aspects and skills related to digital art. Classes are limited in size, so sign up today! Digital Art supplies are REQUIRED, iPad with Apple Pencil and art program Procreate are used in class. (we cannot guarantee a 1:1 lesson if you use a different program) NOTE: there are 2 generations of Apple Pencil- please check to make sure you have the compatible pencil before attending. In this class your child will refine their fine motor skills as they learn to draw, paint, and sculpt, while also learning a little art history. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. We are opening up our After-School Art Enrichment Program to drop-ins for the Early Release Day for a special rate of $90. IMPORTANT NOTE: Because your child is "dropping-in" to our After School Program we MUST have a set of enrollment forms completed for Drop-In eligibility. These health and safety forms are a state requirement. The good news is once you complete the forms for the year, you are set for all other drop in programs that come up in 2026-2027. On Early Release Days (when the children arrive at 11:30am), we ask you to please pack a nut-free lunch for your child. We do not provide lunches. DROP-OFF: Drop off is at 11:30am on early release days. Please use the Art Studio entrance on Waterfield Road (directly to the right of the Pottery Studio). PICK-UP by 6pm: At pick up time, please use the Art Studio door. You may pick up your child at any time during the program. If you will be arriving for pickup before 5pm, please let us know at drop off or email us at info@studioonthecommon.com to let us know. We will be sure to pack up your child's belongings and get them ready for you to pick up.

Creative Camp (Ages 3-5) Let your little one’s imagination soar at Flip Out Creative Camp! Designed for ages 3-5, this camp is all about fun, creativity, and learning through play. Each day, campers will: Boost gross motor skills with playful gymnastics and movement activities Explore their creativity with fine motor skills like drawing, painting, and cutting with scissors Build friendships and develop social skills while engaging in group activities Get a head start on kindergarten readiness with fun introductions to letters, numbers, and more Our daily activities include: Music and movement Arts and crafts Gymnastics fun Playful learning of the alphabet and numbers Organized outdoor games All campers must be potty trained.

*Mid-session registration: If you are signing up AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THIS SERIES OF 9 CLASSES, email info@marvegos.com about a possible project conflict before you arrive for class.* Our Life Drawing class introduces students to the fundamentals of figure drawing and the human form. Through gesture, anatomy, and form studies, young artists learn to see the body from different perspectives and build the skills to create more natural, realistic figures. In some sessions, students will also have the exciting opportunity to draw from a live (clothed) model, gaining first-hand experience in observing the proportions and presence of an actual person. The class fee includes the cost of a vetted, guild-booked professional model. Some handouts may include artistic references of the unclothed figure for study purposes. All materials will be provided.

Sign up for each week- we have a new curriculum each week! Kids will enjoy 4 hours of Art and Art related Activities! Day Camp is a drop off program & for ages 4 and older. Each day includes a variety of Cookies & Canvas event, One Day Workshop, OR Pottery Painting & Open Studio time. Most projects will go home same day. (If they have pottery painting that day, they will need to be picked up following week) Kids enjoy stations as well as several art projects during their 4 hours of fun at the Art Studio! Groups separated by age under K-4 grades, 5-8 grades. Bring peanut free sack lunch, snack & water bottle. Please dress for the weather- as we do take a walk in the neighborhood and eat in the garden on days when we can.
