Since school is out for Martin Luther King day, come in and work on your projects or take advantage of our experienced instructors and learn something new! Studio Time can be used to develop new skills or strengthen current skills. All of our studio resources will be available to students during this time. Parents may drop-in last minute if they would like, buy a class-pack to use anytime during the fall semester, or register in advance. Students may choose to do ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, animation, collage, mixed media, sculpture, printmaking, screen printing, or anything else we have the resources to do. Sky's the limit!

The Kids' Digital Art class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session designed for ages 8 and up, introducing young artists to the world of digital drawing and painting using iPads and Procreate. Students learn the fundamentals of layering, brush techniques, color theory, and composition, while exploring their creativity through fun and engaging projects. This class helps build technical skills and confidence in digital art, preparing students for more advanced techniques in the future.

MOCHA Field Trips are a great way to spend the school year. We offer an array of art lessons and can customize curriculum based on what you are learning in your classroom. Your class or community group will participate in an engaging art lesson led by a professional teaching artist. Lessons include an educational presentation as well as opportunities for hands-on making. Each lesson is 1 hour long (Pre-K). We can accommodate up to 25 students (Pre-K). For groups larger than 25 students, a second reservation may be required and groups may need to be staggered. Students will explore art through literature by hearing a story then exploring hands on art stations related to the book. Activities will include painting, drawing, clay sculpture, color mixing, clay and collage. You don't have to be a pro to create beautiful art! All it takes is some practice, patience, and inspiration to create something magnificent. For my age 10+ KVArteests, we work in oil paints on projects each artist chooses with my input. This is a class for those with enough art experience or can-do attitude to work largely independently.

Class Experience This ongoing class seamlessly extends our Pre-K, Kinder, & 1st grade Art Program, continuing from summer into the school year and cycling back each season. It provides a consistent, year-round art education journey for students. Jump in anytime! Class Requirements Age Requirement: Artists must be at least 4 years old to enroll in PreK-1st classes. Bathroom Independence: Children must be fully independent in using the bathroom to attend classes without adult supervision. If a child requires assistance in the bathroom, a parent or guardian must be present during the class.

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) This fun class is for students who have taken cartooning and animation and are ready to build on a foundation of a variety of art skills. The joy of drawing cartoons provides a vehicle for also learning drawing basics. This is a digital drawing class. This is an ongoing course that provides new projects each week to challenge and guide your child's artistic abilities. Each student receives individual attention to emphasis their natural strengths and help in areas they need to improve. Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up today!

Through hands-on lessons, students will learn how to navigate the interface, use brushes and tools, and apply digital techniques to create original artworks. The course is designed to build a strong foundation for students interested in developing their digital art practice and a small class size means kids will get plenty of personalized instruction and one-on-one support. Through gesture, anatomy, and form studies, young artists learn to see the body from different perspectives and build the skills to create more natural, realistic figures. In some sessions, students will also have the exciting opportunity to draw from a live (clothed) model, gaining first-hand experience in observing the proportions and presence of an actual person. The class fee includes the cost of a vetted, guild-booked professional model. Some handouts may include artistic references of the unclothed figure for study purposes. This week we are mimicking her whimsical style to draw an adorable mouse. Students will get to practice line and form to set up a successful composition with a distinct background and foreground. They will also learn valuable cross hatching techniques to express value and light.

In this class they will work on fine motor skills through creating art! Your child will practice using scissors, holding a pencil and paint brush, and much more through drawing, painting, and sculpting. Classes are limited in sizes so sign your child up today!
