After school, we’ll offer a mini-version of our famous Hi-Five Sports Camp that has thrived for over 35 years. Our After School program will allow children to get a taste of a variety of sports under the guidance of great coaches – encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and FUN. The Hi-Five After School Club will focus on the core sports in our Summer Camp program – basketball, softball/baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, and volleyball. In addition, we’ll play a wide variety of schoolyard games that get the kids moving and competing. Whether they make a mistake or lose or they make a great play or win, they’ll learn from it and keep playing. We believe the key to teaching kids how to play sports is through encouraging them to develop the proper fundamentals and play with passion. Above all else, we want to make sports FUN to help them fall in love with playing the games, just for the sake of playing! It’s as simple as that. They’ll all get a little taste of summer camp each week!!

Hi-Five Kids Fitness & Aerobics (Ages 3.5–6) Get your child moving, learning, and having fun with Hi-Five Kids Fitness & Aerobics at the Bernard Weinger JCC! This high-energy class is designed to help young children build a strong foundation of movement, coordination, balance, flexibility, and confidence through age-appropriate fitness activities, obstacle courses, aerobic games, music, and interactive challenges. For boys, this program helps develop the fundamental athletic skills needed to succeed in sports such as basketball, soccer, baseball, football, and more. Through running, jumping, agility drills, and teamwork activities, children gain the confidence and physical literacy needed to enter the sports world. For girls, the class provides an excellent introduction to the movement patterns used in dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, and performing arts. The experience continues heading out of Manhattan into the Bronx to admire the grandeur of Yankee Stadium. The exploration of the Bronx continues to the “Joker Steps “and artistic murals- learning more about this famous street art and the history of The Bronx. Our exploration continues in Queens with a lively stroll at the fascinating Flushing Meadows Corona Park. U.S. Open National Tennis Center, Citi Field NY Mets baseball stadium, and Uni-sphere. Brooklyn is where we explore the Williamsburg neighborhood, the largest concentration of Hasidic Jews. The show continues down at Brooklyn’s waterfront, with a view of the world-famous panorama of Manhattan’s skyline and a pace at Domino park. This park’s architecture & landscape is a gorgeous way to admire the New York city bay and landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty & One world trade center.
