Footsteps Child Care, in partnership with the City of Belmont Parks and Recreation, is excited to offer nine weeks of summer camp designed specifically for older children and youth entering fourth grade through middle school. This summer, we are thrilled to feature specialized classes provided by Lando, including Advanced LEGO Robotics and Clay Studio Lab. Using LEGO® bricks and Technic components (beams, axles, gears, motors, and sensors), they will tune for speed, lift, or control, log test results, and present how each modification improved their design. In the afternoon campers can participate in a group cooking project. TUESDAY features morning hikes through local trails followed by recreational swimming at the Carlmont High School pool. WEDNESDAY is field trip day, with exciting excursions designed for adventure and exploration. Campers will experience thrilling attractions, water activities, outdoor adventures, and even an overnight camping experience! Each trip offers opportunities to build friendships, try new activities, and create unforgettable summer memories. THURSDAY offers flexible morning time for activities and games, along with a trip to the Belmont Library, followed by recreational swim time in the afternoon. FRIDAY wraps up each week with special events, community service projects, or Counselors-In-Training opportunities. From 2pm to 4pm, campers can also join Clay Studio Lab, where they will create gallery-ready, multi-module scenes using internal armatures, balanced bases, and clean joins. They will refine their work with cohesive color palettes and textures while explaining how their design choices enhanced structural integrity and visual clarity.

Footsteps Child Care is excited to offer this new one-week summer camp designed especially for older children and youth entering 4th grade through middle school. Campers explore the outdoors while learning the fundamentals of fishing, building their confidence and developing a deeper appreciation for nature. What Campers Learn Youth will be introduced to the basics of fishing through hands-on instruction, including: • Tie a hook and properly bait the hook • Cast a fishing rod • Learn to read the water to understand fish behavior • Fish identification and responsible fishing practices Camp Activities • Four days of fishing at local lakes • Short nature hikes and outdoor exploration • Wednesday field trip shared with Camp Footsteps Adventures • Plenty of time to learn, practice, and enjoy the outdoors with friends Each camper will receive their own tackle box to use during camp and take home. All fishing gear will be provided, although campers are welcome to bring their own equipment if they prefer. The coastal hike will take you from Sharp Park through the coastline of Pacifica where you will get to experience Whale sightings, see California goldfields and poppies (wildflowers native to California), Black sand beaches, and watch surfers catch waves. As we hike from Sharp Park Beach to Pacifica State Beach near Linda Mar you'll likely see fishermen standing on the beaches hoping to catch striped bass or salmon, and if you look into the sky you may see paragliders floating above Musell Rock Park in the distance. The trails are beginner-friendly so feel free to bring the whole family along.

Wire Pass is mainly a flat and narrow slot section in the Grand Staircase-Escalante. There is potential for amazing and soft color in the walls of Wire Pass and would be interesting for any photographer. Petroglyphs are located in this canyon and date back to 1000 AD. A great choice for young children due to the high canyon walls. This is a shared tour for up to 20 people.
