This summer you can fly around the world using a life size version of Google Earth, blow bubbles the size of a small car and climb around in a DNA double helix. Spend the week exploring science museums and even a submarine. Learn how roller coasters work and what it takes to become an astronaut. Do you know what aircraft carrier shot down the most planes in US Naval history or how many people have really escaped from Alcatraz? Learn about the Gold Rush and WW2, climb aboard the Eureka and the Bal Clutha and investigate a giant aircraft carrier. How many miles of cable there are on the Golden Gate Bridge? How was the Apollo 11 space capsule recovered? Find out the answers to these questions as you make history during this fun filled week of discovery.

In this camp you will learn all about the natural world around us. There will be plenty of opportunities to see giant giraffes, touch slimy sea cucumbers, and witness birds soar over your head as you venture into the rain forest. Nature abounds when you join us for Biology/Natural Science camp at UAC.

History 2 Explorers Camp

Are you a history buff? If so, this camp is for you. You do not need to have taken History 1 to participate in this week; all you need is a love of all things historical. Come with us as we learn about the fort built to protect the San Francisco Bay during the Civil War. Watch the engines that pull all of the cable cars up and down the steep hills around San Francisco. See the Immigration Station where thousands of people first set foot into the United States in the early 1900’s. Climb into the USS Pampanito and the SS Jeremiah OBrien to see two amazing WW2 ship museums. History 2 week at UAC offers campers a variety of opportunities to experience history like never before.

Thus, lunch is included with every day of this week (campers who are not comfortable with a variety of food options are welcome to bring extra food if they desire). ***Note****: Due to the locations and cuisines of this camp week, we must advise that there will be dishes with nuts, gluten, and other possible food allergies. At this time we advise all children with food allergies do not sign up for this camp.
