My name is Annette and I am a German native. I have been working with children ages 3 to 6 in a preschool setting for 21 years, and teach German to preschool/elementary students in Austin since 2006. For the last 7 years I have been employed in a public school district Special-education classroom, working with children of various ages and disabilities. I am CPR/First Aid certified and receive continuous professional development training. I work with families with babies and older children as a nanny/babysitter and enjoy being a part of their family as I also accompany them on trips, shopping, etc. Broom and dustpan don't scare me. As a mother of two bilingually raised children, who are all grown up now, I relive the time when they were little by giving my love to children that I take care of. I am available for full-time & part-time care giving (mornings, after school/date night/weekends). I'm more than happy to give references.

We absolutely love Annette! She came in to help us when we had a gap in childcare coverage and was amazing to our two year old son. Every morning she came to our home with toys, games and books to entertain our little one. We call her "German Mary Poppins" as she truly is full of excitement and surprises for our son. She had always planned toys and activities they would do throughout the day. Annette was always on time and never hesitated to stay a few minutes later when needed. She even helped clean up after our son and left our home clean with laundry folded and dishes done! We will hire Annette again.

I started babysitting in my neighborhood at the age of 14 years old. How I got started was I had read every Babysitter Club book there was growing up and always knew I enjoyed working with children. While attending College I worked at LA's Best for two years with the 4th grade program. I helped with homework and came up with fun learning activities. Toward the end of my college years I had a nanny job for a toddler and 3-year-old. When I finished college I went on to become a teacher for Camp in their Preschool Program. I had a classroom of 20 children ages 2-4 years old with a Co-teacher; I worked there for eight years. After working for camp I again became a nanny for three wonderful children one of which was 6 weeks old when I started and the other two were ages 4 and 6. I had to leave because my mother needed my help due to an amputation of her leg, I have since been her caregiver since March of 2019.

Melanie was our nanny for 2 1/2 years, starting from the time our son was 3 months old and our older 2 daughters were 4 and 5. My kids adored Melanie at every age. She has experience as a preschool teacher and it shows with her organization, ability to make experiences and interactions educational, and her ability to handle multiple kids at 1 time. Melanie sets firm boundaries in a kind way. Melanie's car was big enough to safely fit all 3 car seats and we always felt safe with her driving.
