Need support? My goal is for your kids to be independent. Kids have a much different atmosphere than just 10 or even 5 years ago. They need the truth (hint: it's not easy), and to build good work habits. They need to be 'taught' how to study and how to filter immense amounts of data. They need that push that turns a 1-hour session into and an hour of resetting their minds on how to think and perceive. Math is an incredible tool to help get back to those priceless tools of Reasoning and Sense-Making. That's what I'd like to bring to the table. My TIME is dedicated to developing the chemistry needed to stay focused and to inspire independence in my students. I do not guarantee anything and no tutor should. I want them to think "I don't need Ray, I can do this AND SUCCEED." My rate is $100/hour of Reasoning, Sense-Making, Independence, Convenience, ease of scheduling, communication and peace of mind. *First session is FREE* Hope to hear from you!

Ray has worked with my two middle school and high school daughters in math. He is AMAZING. They have different learning styles and needs and he has been able to assess them, meet them where they are and then explain and help them figure out for themselves the work at hand. He's helped build their confidence and problem solving skills and does it in an easy going and open manner. They look forward to working with him. He is easy to work with, punctual and friendly.

My experience with tutoring expands to four years. For two years I taught in a bible camp and then for two other years I taught a math/history class in an after school tutoring program. I regularly taught throughout those four years Sunday classes. I love to tell stories in my own words and sing songs about random things. I feel like song association can help one remember things! I also love to cook very much and adore animals.

My name is Alex M. I am supervisory law enforcement professional. More importantly than that, I am a father of two young school aged children. One of the worse feelings to have is your child falling behind. I contacted Ms.Corrin, through this service, right away I was very impressed and placed at ease. Her attention to detail and approachability were both key to my daughter and I feeling confident in her ability. Since being coached and mentored by Ms. Corrin, my daughter has achieved honor roll status and has also become much more social and outgoing, definite bonuses. Ms. Corrin not only taught my daughter, she also took a personal interest in her. As with all good teachers, students are not just a 9-3 responsibility. She was always available through email and text. She went above and beyond in her efforts. Checking up on her and her studies, calling on birthdays and holidays ensuring a personal connection that yielded much higher benefits and growth.

FAQs for finding a math tutor

How much does a math tutor cost?
The national average rate on Care.com for hiring math tutors as of October, 2020 is $18.50 per hour. The cost may vary depending on your location, the tutor's years of experience, level of education, and the student's individual needs. The rate that you'll pay your tutor will also vary if you chose a one-on-one private math tutor lesson or if they have multiple students sharing the same session.
How do I know if my child needs a math tutor?
Your child may benefit from having a math tutor if you notice that he or she is having difficulty with numbers, gets constantly frustrated with math homework, or when grades start falling behind. In some cases, getting a few one-on-one sessions with a math tutor can help your child to regain confidence and get back on track.
What questions should I ask a math tutor during an interview?
The goal for hiring a math tutor for your child will be to improve their grades. Ask questions about the process each tutor uses to help kids they've worked with in the past. Also ask each if they are familiar with your schools' curriculum. Finally, see how long they are willing to commit to helping your child with their math assignments. Your child may get back on track after a couple of sessions or may need long-term help that could require a math tutor staying with them the entire school year.
