Hi! My name is Kaitlyn and this past year I have been working with my school in our Outreach class to travel down to elementary schools near us, mentoring and tutoring the students at the schools (typically with common core math). As well as working with our 3D Printing group to help inspire students to become more confident in themselves and to have an educational experience while having fun. I have also worked for the past 7 summers at Kids Art Bash camp in San Jose teaching students 5-15 different artistic techniques and helping them to become more confident in themselves and teaching them to learn to love all the different types of artwork that they are able to create. I have two dogs at home that I love cuddling with, playing with, walking, and just all around spending time with them. I truly love working with children and being able to see them grow and flourish while they have fun and play during our time together.

Kaitlyn was wonderful with my 6yo daughter. Even though I was working from home, Kaitlyn was very confident and was able to care for my daughter (and 3yo son) independently, which allowed me to focus on my work. She assisted my daughter with homework, she thought of games to play, and made sure my kids were safe, fed, hydrated, all while reminding them to have manners! Kaitlyn helped us for about 2 months, and was always on time, and was very reliable.

Lalia is an absolutely wonderful teacher and care provider. She has a calm, gentle, yet firm style. She wrangled my three restless elementary kids with grace and skill during a very difficult year. She is so creative and my children loved the projects and little moments of noticing or creating that Lalia incorporated into her time with them. She was completely reliable and trustworthy and I can recommend her without reservation.

I run a small tutoring company in Portland and have been working with students in classrooms and individually for over a decade. I am highly skilled and have experience with students in Kindergarten through 10th grade. I provide everything from basic homework help to more personalized learning plans. I have training and experience working with brand new, emerging, and struggling readers, including students with dyslexia. I am also well versed in Common Core math and language standards. I value an affirming and relationship based approach that helps students understand their unique potential. One of my favorite things is watching my students gain confidence and excitement as they realize how much they are capable of doing. I would be delighted to partner with you to help your student succeed!

Jessica has worked with my 8 y/o twice a week over the last year. She's amazing and has helped him with reading, writing, and math so much! He's made incredible progress over a relatively short amount of time thanks to Jessica's efforts. She's knowledgeable, patient, kind, prepared, and punctual. She has a million tricks up her sleeve for motivating kids. She also understands how to work with diverse kids like mine who struggle with attention. He has lots of avoidance strategies for things that are hard, and she handles these behaviors in stride with calmness and grace, and she's somehow always able to guide the focus back to learning. I can't recommend her enough.
