About Sierra

I'd describe my personality as calm, patient, and kind. I like tutoring because I love seeing growth over time in my students. I enjoy seeing growth in both skills taught and confidence in their work. I am looking for a tutoring job over the summer. As a first grade teacher during the school year, I am interested in teaching children how to read. Whether that is teaching new phonics sounds and high frequency words or solidifying concepts already learned. I can help build math fluency in all operations. As well as teach addition and subtraction strategies for adding and subtracting within 20 I would prefer to work with students in grades k-4. I started tutoring my cousins in reading during the pandemic shutdown. I loved it so much that I decided to switch career paths and become a teacher! In my spare time, I like to have picnics at the park, hike and read books. I love lake and river activities such as paddle boarding and kayaking.
