I began tutoring students during the summer of my sophomore year in high school. I began tutoring students on the elementary school level in math and reading. Upon graduating high school, I attended Francis Marion University. While there I received a bachelors' of Science in Middle school Education English and History. During college, I worked at the local YMCA as a kindergarten after-school counselor and a one on one tutor for children with severe ADHD. As a special needs teacher assistant, my job consisted of working with students with learning disabilities. I have currently been working in Charlotte Mecklenburg school district for the past 7 years as a middle school teacher. I am currently in school to receive my English as a second language certification. Teaching and tutoring is my passion and I am here to help.

Professional and Flexible care! I am a CMS teacher and I hired Melanie during the transition from remote teaching to hybrid learning. She was extremely flexible with the district's continuous changes and worked with me on providing care for my two young children. She was very punctual and dependable for the 7-4pm M-F shift I needed. I really appreciated the energetic supportive care taking she provided for my young children. Melanie created lessons suitable for preschoolers and always incorporated learning that encouraged independence. Her experience as a certified teacher was definitely apparent in her daily professionalism. We enjoyed Melanie in our home very much. I highly recommend her services!

Professional Math Coach And Student Mentor

What would you not give for your child to be happy, independent, and successful? Over 500+ students have been coached to confidence and comprehension in math based on strategies and skills we've developed to push them as close to their potential as possible. Students are taught critical thinking skills to help them see math, as REAL-world problems in a three part segmentation. Sentence stems, terminology, and test-taking strategies that are not able to be taught in the classroom are key components to guiding students to getting back on track or excelling past their peers in the classroom One student, was disinterested and struggling with math. After a few sessions she was quickly able to mirror and implement our thought processes. We were able to move her TWO letter grades within ONE Quarter. Her story is not uncommon among our tutees and we look to add your child to the list of our storied student successes. Sincerely, Alexander

My boys were struggling in math, one wasn't being challenged enough and the other not quite getting the help needed in his school. I didn't know quite where to turn until I looked online and enlisted the help of Professor L. I quickly realized what they were doing was out of my jurisdiction of expertise and that they were under the utmost excellent tutelage and care with whom my wife and I had chosen. I encourage anyone who has run out of ideas on exactly how to help their child in math with today's "newest way of doing things" to leave it L.
