Dallas Math Tutors

I have recently in the past tutor elementary student and ages three to four at after school programs. I help with Math, letters, and teaching how to read and write.

I enjoy helping children and adults learn and believe that each person is capable of improving their understanding of math and perform much better in everyday lessons and on tests. I have been working as a tutor since 2003. Most of the time I have tutored students individually or in a small group, because each student has their own learning style. I offer math tutoring for all levels of math up to College Algebra.

I've worked for both AlphaBest Education and Gideon Math and Reading for a number of years. I also have experience tutoring my 3 younger brothers.

I have taught piano lessons through my own piano-teaching business. I have a degree in English with a focus in creative writing, and an integrative studies major with focuses in technical writing, journalism, and Spanish. I also love teaching about the Bible, so if this is something you are wanting, I am very knowledgeable and have my own apologetics website. Other subjects like math, history, or other, I have a basic knowledge of and would usually be able to teach any child up to the teenage years. Church history is something I have a deep knowledge of if that's something you are wanting your child to learn more about. The subjects of English, piano, music composition, biblical studies, or church history I am exceptional at tutoring.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Methodist University, concentrating my studies in child development. I have worked with children for over 20 years as a tutor and parent educator, and have run my own business for over 10 of those years. My motto is "Learning is Fun". I believe all children have wonderful potential and can succeed with the right encouragement and understanding. I tutor preschool through elementary in the family's own home for their comfort and convenience. For preschoolers, I use creative games and the child's own toys to help that child remember the school readiness skills I am teaching. In the elementary grades, my specialty is reading comprehension and writing, but will also teach math and other subjects. I also help children with test prep, both with school entrance exams, including TAG or other accelerated programs, and also with end of year testing, including the STAAR exam. I offer references upon request.

Hello! My name is Shilpa. I am a second year PhD Candidate at UT Southwestern-Medical Center located in Dallas, TX. I study Cancer Biology. Prior to this, I received a B. S. in Chemistry and Biology at Valparaiso University. I have been tutoring students for 6+ years. I primarily tutor students in middle and high school science and math.
