How often should my housekeeper come?
I recently hired a housekeeper to come once a month. The first Wednesday of every month. How often do housekeepers usually come? Is this average? In the future, could I change it to have her come more frequently?
Its really up to you. Whether its weekly , biweekly ,or monthly .Just before company and afterward is sometimes preferred , a good house keeper will accommodate you.
I clean houses and I usually clean once a week or every two weeks
I currently have a few client's. I do come to some of my client's homes once a month ..but honestly to keep a home clean & laundry steady up to date, lol. I would say every 2 weeks .. It's nice to enter a home you already know what your task is & you make the mental note of what all needs to be done every other week, for instance .. blinds, shutters, base boards, ceiling fans .. walls & doors. Things you wouldn't commonly do every day when you pick up around the house. Works for me & I'm a tornado ... I get it done! 😁 Thank You ...
Depends on traffic in your home, how fast place gets dirty, and your cleanliness comfort level. If you feel the house is dirty quickly, cleaner should come frequently or more often.
I clean houses and nanny and have for most my life and every family I've worked for have been different with different requests and expectations. You're paying her to do a job so if u need her extra days just ask her if she'd be willing to come more sometimes or as needed :)
It sounds as though you may want your housekeeper there mire than once a month. Perhaps try biweekly. remember a more regularly scheduled visit will keep the dust at bay, bathroom and kitchen cleaner ( less germs sitting, around), and generally speaking, if you can afford it, a more pleasant environment to enjoy. I have biweekly clients as well as weekly. Hope this helps!! Cheers, Nancy
That is totally up to you! Although I would highly suggest as least every other week to maintain a clean, healthy house. It really depends on the clients circumstances...if one or both adults work, if there are children and if so how old they are, does laundry need to be done, are there guest coming, etc...
I used to do once a month, but lately I have been on an every-other-week schedule and that works better for us. I've found that some housekeepers will charge you less per visit if you have them come more often, since the job will be a bit easier on them.
It really depends on the home owner. I've cleaned family home twice and some three times a week it depends on them.
I clean houses most of the time is twice a month
This depends on your situation. If you have pets that shed, young children or your house is on the market, I would say that you could probably go for once a week. The standard people choose is usually bi-weekly.
If you live alone, don't cook much, don't have pets and work a lot then once a month is probably good. If you're a couple with two kids, one cat and one dog and you don't want to do much cleaning yourself then once a week is probably good for you.
People typically have a cleaner come one- two times per month. I am sure there are people who prefer someone to come once a week. It doesn't hurt to ask her if she can come more often. It will depend on her availability.
There are a few things to consider when deciding how often your home should be cleaned. Most important is your budget. Following would be how many are in your family, ages of children, how many pets. Biweekly is pretty average if there are no kids and pets at home and weekly seems to work better for my customers with pets and/or children.
It depends on the employer. One employer is bi-weekly; she is a stay-at-home mom with a new baby. My other employer needs me every week. They have a pre-schooler and a third grader; both parents work full time. I do laundry as well as cleaning and changing beds for them.
There is a little difference between housekeeper and house cleaning. House cleaning does deep cleaning only most the time and housekeeper usually come at least one or twice per week to keep the house clean and organized on diferents aspects such closets ,plant care , laundry ,ironing and sometimes preparing meals, really depends what was agreed in the interview for the job.
I am a housekeeper and I acctually prefer to come weekly so I can keep up with everything. I acctually charge less for weekly cleanings Vs. Monthly.
I have clients that have once a month and some that are twice a week I think it depends a lot on your preference level
It varies by household based on many factors such as how many people live in the home, if you have small children or children in after school activities or if you have pets are just a few of the many factors when deciding how often your cleaning company should come to clean. I can typically fit a cleaning into the schedule with as little as 24hrs before, but I've also received a call at 10am & been at the house cleaning at 1pm that same day, your cleaner should be able to fit in a last minute cleaning with as little as a 24hr notice for those last minute guests or events.
I am a person recomend by weekly, the service is much better and paid less good luck
It's always up to individual as depends on the support you need, size of property and any health needs that need to be considered. We have members of the household with chronic lung condition so need the house to be a dust free zone so have support more than I may otherwise. Depending on your housekeeper's schedule they will probably be flexible to accomodate you if you need to add in deep clean increase hours occasionally.
I feel you should have someone once a week to keep it up, it"s not fare to the person who is cleaning to have to clean a house that has been neglected for two weeks most family's don't help keep it up.
Most housekeepers, including myself, have a number of scheduling options. I usually suggest if you have children or pets in the home that you may want atleast bi-weekly, but that depends on your needs and how you like your home maintained. I myself am usually open to trial and error, meaning, if you need to change up the schedule, I will alway's try to accomodate. It is, however, usually more cost effective to have more freguent visits because it is easier to maintain a home than to start from scratch every time you visit. Hope this helps.
Depends how much your house need cleaning, Families who dont have kids hired me for twice a month, those who have kids needed me weekly. So depends, try it monthly than if you need it more you can always ask to come more often :)
I believe at least once a week is good, especially with children around as they do create a lot of mess.
Every other week is a tidy home and easier on the wallet most of the time when clients ask for weekly they get a super deal and a biweekly good deal Monthy can cost you more due to more work build up :) a tidy home is a healthy home
I am a disabled woman with limited income and I have a small dog. I started out at having someone come once a week to keep my kitchen, bathrooms, and floors clean; however, I am going to change the schedule to every other week as I find I don't need her as often once she did the first good cleaning. I am able to keep it tidy myself so when she comes, the kitchen, bathrooms and floors are all that need a good cleaning. Another consideration is if you need someone who is willing to do more than just general cleaning, I have a few tasks that have nothing to do with cleaning (like picking up medications or light shopping). I was very lucky to find someone so flexible but I made certain I included my needs of flexible hours resulting from my illnesses because at times, I simply do not want anyone in my home that day(s). As has been repeated here often, it is a personal decision based upon personal needs. Just be sure to discuss your expectations in depth before hiring,
I have a one bedroom apartment and a short hair tabby cat , had a housekeeper come every other week which that worked out real good for me but she had to quit since she had a baby now looking for a replacement.
It's really up to you. Some people they prefer once a week, but the majority always use the cleaning twice a month or every other week it really depends on how comfortable you are with the cleanliness of your house.
I find that it works well for my clients and myself if we do a biweekly.
It depends on how clean you can keep your house and how well you can live with dust. The ideal scenario is having your house cleaned every two weeks, at least. The dust and grease will not stuck in the meantime and your home will look as is has been cleaned more often, specially if you can keep the cleanliness with a little organization and simple day by day chores.
Since you are doing the hiring, it is up to you how often they come. You negotiated to have someone come once a month. There's nothing to stop you for negotiating more often if needed. How often to have the housekeeper comes depends on how often you begin to feel overwhelmed and when you want that feeling to go away.
There are a few things to consider when determining how often a housekeeper should come, including pets, shedding, children. If you have young children (which can be messy) or a pet that sheds a lot, I'd say once a week. However, if you don't think you need it that often, you could do every other week and see how that works for you and just increase the frequency if needed.
Yes, you can. Make sure to talk with your housekeeper about it. If your home is too big to handle (2,000+ sq ft) , you need more than once a month to once a week.
I have been a housekeeper for many years now and honestly there is no right or wrong way to do it.. If you feel that your house needs to be cleaned once a week or twice a week that is up to you. I had a client once that had me come once a day to clean their house, sometimes doing the same job I did the day before when it hadn't even been touched.. It really just depends on the cleanliness you like to maintain!
