Care.com's Mom Force is a team of work-at-home moms who review every caregiver profile. If a profile isn't mom-approved, it doesn't go on the site.

When a new caregiver joins Care.com, we run a verification scan of a criminal database and state sex offender registries before putting his or her profile on the site. Verification checks are not a substitute for background checks, but they're an important preliminary screen. You should still request a free standard background check for every caregiver you consider hiring.

Unlimited Standard Background Checks are included in your membership, so you can run them on every caregiver you're seriously considering! Standard Background Checks include Social Security number verification, a national criminal database search, and a state sex offender registries search.

For an additional fee you can request an Enhanced Background Check that also includes an in-person search of county and federal courthouse records performed by an investigator.

We record reference interviews so you can hear from caregivers' previous employers—or you can call the references yourself if you prefer.

You decide when to share your contact information with a caregiver. All messaging happens through the Care.com site and we monitor for spam, scams, and inappropriate content.
