Part Time Senior Caregiver
When I was in middle and high school, I was very good friends with a woman named Esther who, at the time, was in her late 80's. I visited her often and loved being in her company and helping with any tasks that needed to be done, and would love to use those experiences I've had to work with others who may need company and a helping hand.

I Work With My Heart. I Would Like To Help Senior Person.
Avg response < 13 hrs
I am interested in working with senior persons mainly due to experience with the elder and my passion in helping others. My experience as a care taker with senior people comes from investing my time taking special care of my mother who suffers from Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). I have took care of her since the beginning of her degenerative illness. I have acquired core skills as a care giver, I have developed a strong capacity for understanding their needs and limitations. I also developed core skills in scheduling and reminding people about their medications, and being very cautious with the instructions and contraindications. My experience has also taught me the importance of being able to maintain conversations of a vast variety. Most importantly, I understand the due respect we all owe to the elder s special needs, interests, likes, dislikes and limitations. I am also a very curious, active, intellectual person, committed and hard worker.

Senior Care/Companion/Help With Meals Or Running Errands
Avg response < 5 hrs
I currently care for a 94-year-old for whom I assist with daily hygienic needs, run errands and plan, shop and prepare meals. I manage medications, take her for daily walks and assist with exercises etc. Past experience: I was a live -in caregiver for a 63-year-old with Cadasil and was totally dependent and could not be left alone except while sleeping. I did every thing with her and kept her safe. I was companion for a 75-year-old male with early dementia in conjunction with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart condition and other complications. I was responsible for completely running the household including making sure he took his medications, bath, meals. I cooked and baked nutritious meals and prepared meals for his guests whenever needed. I made sure he took a shower every day and helped him with it. I also helped him dress so that his clothes were appropriate for the weather and the colors matched. He always looked sharp and smelled great. I am compassionate and kind and take great care of the elderly with much love.

Part Time M-F - Companionship, Care, Alzheimer's, Meal Prep, Errands, Cleaning
Avg response < 3 hrs
I've cared for 2 clients with Alzheimer's, although I am not necessarily only for this specific niche of work. One of my clients was advanced, one early onset. Total experience 4+ years. Worked with my last client until her passing. Responsibilities changed over time. From companionship and assistance with eating, toilet help, medication, bathing, to end of life care--turning hand washing. With each of my clients, I gave it my all. As an artist (painter, designer, puppet builder...), I tried to give them the best quality of care possible, and to keep them engaged in life. I made an effort to get my younger client out and walking in the park with her dog, took her to free concerts, out to eat, took her clothing shopping (which was fun for her). Was painstakingly patient with both clients concerns. My elder client was extremely anxious and much of my job was to be a level, calming influence. We did a lot of singing/dancing. I was more than a caregiver, I gave my heart.
