Professional Educator And Tutor

Responds quickly
Hello! I am a professional educator since 2010, working with students from public, private, charter and home school settings. I am adept at assessing the cognitive development of students, and connecting with them on their level. I specialize in keeping students engaged while providing steady feedback and positive encouragement and work inclusively with students from grades K-12, accounting for learning styles, diversity and cultural needs. I have experience working with students with dyslexia/Dysphasia/Dyscalculia, as well as ADHD, and children on the autism spectrum. I develop curriculum and have expertise with the new common core standards in all subjects. I speak Spanish, have lived all over the world, and love connecting with people with diverse backgrounds. I hope you will reach out and I look forward to serving the needs of your learning journey! Warmly, Stacy

We were lucky enough to find Stacy in August 2020 once we realized the schools would not be getting back to in person learning. Stacy started a curriculum for each of our kids (1st and 4th grade) which has not just kept them on grade level but has expanded and improved their levels. Our 1st grade daughter was a bit behind before starting with Stacy and now is fully ready to complete 1st grade and will be on track for starting 2nd grade. Our 4th grade son has excelled tremendously with Stacy. She keeps him engaged, interested and challenged. Stacy brings great knowledge and passion to her teaching and the kids respond wonderfully to that. They know that Stacy will always have some new and interesting lessons and they look forward to their time with her. I would absolutely recommend Stacy to anyone!

Experienced Tutor

Responds quickly
I graduated the University of Arizona with a BS in Engineering and minor in Public Health. During my time at the University, I taught a freshman level math course for two semesters and volunteered at a tutoring center in a local elementary school. I have an active Fingerprint card with 10 years of tutoring experience for all grade levels. I enjoy working with students and have a positive attitude and a passion to assist and motivate struggling learners. From personal experience, I've learned that people learn things differently and at different paces; when students struggle with a subject, it's usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught. Tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student's optimal pace. Due to COVID-19, I am only offering online during tutoring. In my free time I enjoy practicing yoga, hiking and spending time with my dog.

Alyssa is an amazing tutor! I contacted her about tutoring my 11 year old in math ( a subject she had long been struggling with and had built insecurity around) and in the span of about a year or so Alyssa has helped her build her skills. She has taught her concepts she reviewed in school in different ways to find what worked for my daughter. More importantly, she has tremendously helped improve her confidence. Recently my daughter said she thought she would never be good at math and now she is and couldn't be happier! Thanks Alyssa!

We highly recommend her. She started tutoring our son while his school went to remote instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. She helps him finish uncompleted class work, supports him with his homework, and helps him submit both through the school's online teaching platform. This often requires revisiting some material or teaching to fill gaps in. She has supported our son with English Language Arts as well as Math. She understand expectations specific to Common Core. She has been tremendously helpful to our family by helping our son academically. This has freed us up to spend quality time together as a family and tend to other stressors that we have as a result of this pandemic. Our son really enjoys class with her. She is patient, caring, and thoughtful. She has also been very professional, reliable, and punctual. She has demonstrated great flexibility and ability to teach with the uncertainty and confusion that comes with supporting remote instruction.

Mary was hired as a private teacher for our group of 3 girls in a learning pod for the entire 20/21 school year. She was an amazing teacher and not only made sure the girls all learned actively in person, but got them ahead and made what could have been a very hard year one of the best ones they have ever had. She also took the initiative to stay in touch with the girls' teachers each week to communicate and turn in their completed work. We were able to easily keep our kids in the public school system while she taught them the curriculum in person. She made it a very special and wonderful year for our girls! Highly recommend Mary!
