Retired Teacher Will Tutor Elementary And English Language Students, Evenings And Weekends

Avg response < 5 hrs
I am a retired teacher with 35 years of experience. I have two master's degrees and one of those is a reading specialist degree. I also have a degree in early childhood education (preschool - 3rd grade). I have been tutoring elementary students in the North County area of San Diego for the last 13 years. I have lived and worked all over the world and have taught English to students, businessmen, housewives, and children of all ages. I also have a certificate in the teaching of English as a second language. For the coming school year: I am interested in tutoring first - third grade. I am available from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. every day. I recently home schooled three students for the last six months. I will be glad to send my resume, and references upon request, as well as have a personal interview. I am dependable, always on time and up-to-date on common core standards.. I charge $45 - $50 an hour. Thanks very much for your consideration.

Dianne was a life saver we decided to homeschool our kiddos to travel and we found and Dianne. She has been such a blessing to our whole family. She helped with finding the curriculum for each of our boys. And was able to work one on one with our kids to really focus on what they needed help in. She was always on time, easy to communicate with and caring. I would love to keep her forever if we could!

Tutor Specializing In Individualized Learning And ADHD

Do you feel like you've hit a wall that you can never seem to surmount when it comes to your studies? If you or your children are constantly struggling with academics, investing large amounts of time into schoolwork, only to get C's or lower in return, let me help! I received a B. S. in Cognitive Science at UCSD, a program in which we learned to understand the brain and learning in great depth. I have considerable experience in the management of ADHD, first and foremost my own. I developed strategies to not only handle it and get by, but succeed as well. Over time, I'll prove to you that it is not only very manageable, but that you can do way more than you thought you could. I additionally have experience tutoring people with Dyslexia, High Autism Spectrum, and helping slow learners in general, especially math. If you're tired of the same grade, the same teachers, and the same lessons, allow me to be your tutor. I've worked with little kids, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. James

We hired James 1 mo. ago to help our 7th grade son who has ADHD with school in general -- and especially in this COVID/online environment. He has been AMAZING!!! James is very bright and has many areas of expertise. He is also assertive and has had very good ideas and suggestions to help our son with organization and school work. We already see increased confidence and excitement and related productivity with his learning. James has already become a coach and mentor in addition to a tutor.
