Seeking care for myself in my 30s. Services needed: companionship, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: support for chronic illness, support for memory care. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about myself: I can be pleasant, reserved, independent.. I am a [high functioning] autistic 29 years old with SLE/lupus. I like doing research on whatever I'm interested in, and also enjoy games/puzzles and art/music/dance. I love my chihuahua, Lady, and my 2 cats. I can be talkative but it takes me a while usually to get to know someone. I am also very direct and can be quiet and need a lot of downtime, so please don't take them personally. I am very even in my emotions and pretty easy going, but my disease means my physical ability and cognitive function varies day to day. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, quiet, firm, fond of pets. I would like someone LGBT friendly (I'm married to a woman). I appreciate someone who is comfortable with few directions and is a self starter, as I may need this at times. Likes to organize and de-clutter is a plus, but not also not stressed by clutter (I'm not a hoarder or anything!). I do best when people are very direct/blunt, are comfortable putting on their headphones and getting things done, but also could involve me in a de-cluttering project or sit and eat and chat with me sometimes, too. That's all I can think of for now. Most of my care is based on the following needs:
- Reminders to take my meds, drink water, eat, and to shower
- Cleaning, laundry, dishes
- Cooking and meal prep
- Occasional errands and help navigating the store
- occasional physical assistance positioning, walking, or pushing my wheelchair.
