My elderly mother needs help with transportation to appointments and such, how much does that cost?
I am looking for someone 1-2 a week maybe more not sure at the moment to help my mother with transportation as she no longer is able to transport herself safely. How do I go about that? How do charges work?
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT If a caregiver is using his or her own car to drive your relative to doctor visits or on errands and outings, it's best to reimburse at the IRS mileage rate for business expenses. As of Jan. 1, 2019, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) is 58 cents for every mile of business travel driven. This rate changes annually, so be sure to check at the beginning of each year. Provide a ledger -- as simple as a small notebook -- so the caregiver can log mileage for reimbursement. If the caregiver can use your mother's car then no reimbursement would be needed.
When transportation is involved the usual amount plus gas is appreciated. Ideally, you should provide the car so your mom is covered by your insurance.
depends on caregiver she can charge 40 both ways or higher
That is something you will have to agree on with the caregiver you want to hire.
For Instance - I charge $23 an hour if Im transporting someone in my car. Sometimes it is a challenge to get the person ready, mobility assistance, walker / wheelchair transport, advocating and taking notes at the appointment, gas and insurance liability in transporting. Moral support and enthusiasm are free. Hope that helps.
$15-$20 an hour.
Around $40-50 flat rate per appointment
Each person sets their own rate for this service. A good rate is 20.00 an hour.
If you are not offering too many hours of work then you might opt to offer a flat rate instead of an hourly one. Sometimes its more appealing to know that every time you go to take care of say "Mrs. Smith" you know you will receive $30 instead of hoping that you will receive enough pay to cover mileage, as her caregiver you would already know ahead of time what to expect. Hope that helps : )
i am guessing whatever the going rate is for 2 hrs.work, two days a week.i'm guessing approximately, 15.00 dollars an hour and that is being generous, because they are not useing any nursing skills whats so ever. the most it be 60.00 a week.
Go To Care.com
I suggest Uber
Depending on how much assist's your mother needs and how much she can help with transfer. If she isn't able to assist she may need a hoyer lift, however if she is able to transfer with one or two person's would work. Most fees are sometimes determined by the caregiver at a rate that would vary between $15-$25 and hour. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
Usually that based upon mileage. There's an app you cna get on your cell phone that will track mileage and how much gas you are using or you can pay $15 per an hour along with gas money. Maybe $25.
I would pay an average hourly wage with a 2 hour minimum, plus compensation for use of vehicle if a vehicle is provided.
One example would be calculating the hours required plus mileage at .58 per mile.
that totally depends where you live, different rates plus mileage fee if using caregiver's vehicle. Just research locally what's the rate in your area.
It depends on the area you live in. Generally transportation, in addition to companionship runs, $20-$25, with transportation ad errands, it may be around $30. Taking into account for gas. It depends on where you live, maybe I can help.
yyou would still pay by the hour whst ever their chargers are.
It's important to take many factors into consideration. Transportation (new or older model vehicle); caregiver (experience?); CPR & AED certified; background check; etc. Transportation is similar to caregiver prices.
Care providers charge different prices. Id say about $12 an hr. However, if it is a very part time position & you are only needing assistance for 1 - 2 weeks, it would be more like $15 an hr.
I would say between $13-$16 an hour as there are little hours available.
set a price on what your financial needs will allow, remember you get what you pay for. Quality is valued at different for different people
You should look into a mileage app that will provide the costs of the milage to and from appointments. If not, Uber is really good!
It would coast you at least 15 to 20 per hour
Is has to be charge per hour.
This is a huge responsibility, that involves transportation, safety during transfer, because anything happens will be under the caregiver responsibility, at least PAY THAT THAT PERSON $ 20 DOLLARS AN HOUR.
Make sure the caregiver is comfortable with providing transportation, make sure she has current insurance, drivers license, a vehicle, etc. Sounds basic, but you never want to take for granted the person you hire has all these things. Because the caregiver uses her own car, charging $12 hr would cover gas and wear an tear, etc.
10 -15 dollars per hour
I'm not be able to transport no client because I don't ha a car.I can be escort!
First, I am happy she is doing well but you have to post all the duties. The area she lives at and if any duties around the house. I am a Senior Caregiver. The charge will be estimate around $10-$14. I hope you found someone to help your love one soon. Thanks, Miriam Pichon
Fair payment would be $20 per hour.
I will transport your Mother to and from her Doctors Appointment i myself are looking for a companion person care giver,i have 23 years of Experience as a caregiver and also did live in care giving as well also are experience in Alzheimer's Dementia,I don't know what your Mothers Income is but my feed would be $20 per hrs you may contact me through via the Care.com My Name is Clara Bankston.
I can do that for you.
i believe 13.50$ an hour is good
Usually an agency charges for minimum of 4 hours @ 20.00 which covers time, gas not including miles if caregiver uses their own vehicle no miles or gas charge if client uses their own vehicle
1-2 Days or Hours per week?
Most insurance provide transportation to and from medical appointments. None medical transportation coast a lot. 30 miles and cost up to and more than 300 dollars. Some transportation will go to other places like the store for groceries, and come back when you call them. Like metro lift. private transportation is better, like a friend.
I typically discuss all the patients needs before taking the case. If things change that is in my eyes perfectly fine because that is part of life. I charge a flat hourly rate due to my experience and my credentials.
To make it easier, just pay the caregiver who will help your mom with transportation weekly. Just give $100/week. I'll take it.
Look for requests similar to yours and close to your neighborhood on care.com to get a sense of the average salary being offered
I charge a flat rate to appt. 25 depending how far from home
Most caregivers charge around 15$ per hour. You could make a post on this site asking for transportation assistance, lining out details and what days/hours you need someone. If you want the caregiver to use their own car, they may also ask for mileage reimbursement. You can pay them through the site, or privately. This is up to you and the caregiver to work out.
Usually you would pay by the hour and mileage. They should submit mileage to you with receipt for reimbursement depending on how many miles they traveled with your mother in the car.
Medicaid will pay for companion services
Does she have her own car? I would love to help transport her to and from her appointments the fee could be something we sit and discuss to make sure it's affordable for you.
I have 2 clients that I transport just for errands/appointments. I usually charge an hourly fee of $20 since I classify it more as companion care. I stay with them, walk through the stores are stay at the appointments. One of the client's daughter pays for my time and she uses her credit card through care.com as she lives in a different state. If she truly just needs transportation does your mother have the option of a taxi or uber service in her area? Hope this helps! ~Kirstin
Most people want a minimum 2-hour job; transportation for miles set by the federal government for 2018 was .545 cents per mile. There is caregiver cost that is set per hour, then add the miles driven (not the miles of the caregiver's drive from her home to your mother's home as that is merely driving to work, and those miles are not to be added). Does your Mother have any health concerns that can make it emotionally draining for the caregiver? Factors such as this can increase the cost per hour for the caregiver. Interview a couple people to get experience under your belt, and look at reliable sites for what caregivers charge in your area. Also, if money is tight, there may be people in your church who would love to provide transportation as community outreach. Another source is your local Council on Aging as they help connect senior caregivers to folks who need the services of a caregiver.
Please contact me to discuss possibilities
I will do best to get her to her destination and usually charged the miles
Hi you in the right place just have to have the right person $80 to $100;a day.
$25 per hour
I am an Uber/Lyft driver with a perfect record, so transporting your mother would be a pleasure. Since your schedule isn't set and would be variable, I would be available to help at $12 per hour.
I have my own car and can transport her to her appt's. Charges are $13 and hour
Will you provide a car, and will the driver need assistance with lifting your mom? does she require lifting? If the person is using their vehicle, you can probable pay them $15 to $17 and hour plus mileage. if they are using your vehicle you can pay $20 an hour.
I can help your mother with transportation and i charge $15.00 hourly.carol
Figure out a fixed pay per appointment regardless of how short or long, and a time that will work for the appointments, and see how it goes from there.
$10 hour If there is driving it is $15 a hour
If it's just transportation I would say $12-$15 an hour plus mileage if the caregivers vehicle is used for transportation.
The East Knoxville area has a service of transportation Ethra that the elderly use for safe transportation to and from appointments. They are able to stay in their wheelchair until they return home, the cost is $3.00 each way, and the price is for the patience and personal caregiver together, the name of the company. If you hired the Personal caregiver, that should be included. Dixie
I find there are a lot of ads for the same situation that you describe for clients only willing to pay $10 to $12 per hour. Personally, I skip over those ads because I feel it is unfair wages. Compensation should reflect use of someone's personal vehicle. At the very least, you should offer to pay mileage at a business use rate. The person's time for transporting your mother should be compensated as well from the time transportation is started until arriving home. The cost would depend on whether you want to go high or low. I believe there is a lot of truth to the saying, "you get what you pay for".
hi my nsme is jenifer I think 20 to 30 per hour depends thank you
I would charge 40.00 a day. for two days a week
I would love to take care of your mother by helping with transportation. There would be an hourly fee, if I use my car then mileage will need to be paid. I would look to tax codes for the mileage rate and you set fee based on what you can afford and the care giver either accepts or says no thank you. Because it is only one or two days a week or little more the time hourly time would need to be taken into consideration and reflected in the pay to make it worth while to the care giver part time as far as the caregiver earning a living.
I would be willing to charge by the trip. Depending on how far the appointment is away from her home and myself, I would have to add gas. I would charge around $30 per trip and $10 extra for long trips for gas.
I am available to take her to her appointments as long as we schedule them in advance. The price is an hourly rate depending on how far the doctor appointment is from the drivers' house and clients house. Average price for transportation in Sarasota area is usually an hourly rate somewhere between 10 to 15 per hour plus gas mileage depending on where the doctor is etc. The big companies charge .35 per minute while they wait at the doctors' office.
i can provide service and charge 15 hr.
$25 an hour
Hello. I charge $25/hour. I pick up and wait till doctors appt is completed. I have a flexible schedule
Reimbursing caregivers for transportation is a subject not many people know how to approach, lets break it down to make it simple! First some simple questions. Whose care will they take? The clients or the caregivers? If it is the caregivers, you will need to reimburse for gas costs. How many hours will the trip take? Does the caregiver need to be hands on the entire trip or are they simply providing a ride. If you are only seeking a ride, perhaps a safe prepaid car service is the way to go. If a caregiver needs to be hands on I highly recommend hiring a caregiver for 3-4 hours (most have a minimum) and paying hourly. Reimbursing for gas if needed. If the caregiver has extra time after the transportation they can assist the client with laundry, cooking, cleaning and tidying for the rest of the time. It helps keep everything in order is a g
$17.00 per hour in Palm Beach county, Fl.
no less them $15 per hour
This is my first time using care.com also.
Call your local Aging and Disabilty Center or Area Agency on Aging. They have Volunteers!
Hi where are you located? maybe I can be of help in staying with your mom and helping with transportation. I can charge you $15-20 an hour. Thank you
Hello the charge will be per mileages and for me it will be 10/mileage thanks
It really depends on how many hours a week you will need, and how far the appointment is. Feel free to shoot me a message & one of my team members will be happy to take care of your mother. The charges go by hourly, as well as per mile.
Depending on where her appointment is located. I would charged by the miles plus my hourly wage.
Depend if I use my car or her car.
Hello, I am a mature, professional woman, with experience regularly taking an elderly client to chemotherapy as she is no longer able to drive. I provide a supportive, caring presence for these challenging appointments. Part of my service is to attend doctor appointments, reporting back to the family as requested. I charge $25/ hour.
you need to post your job and the price you are willing to pay. Then see if anyone responds to it.
$25 per hour
The client would upload a profile listing the needs along with which days and hours the care is needed. Then as care.com caregivers reply the client would go through the profiles of the caregivers and find one that they feel meets the needs best. At that time the client would message the caregiver and proceed with the next step in the hiring process. Charges would be based on a scale that the caregiver has already outlined in their profile. This allows both the client and the caregiver to deceide if either is a match for one another.
I would say about $15/hr
add said until Saturday 12/21/18 but Saturday is 12/22/18 I would imagine how far you would have to go to your appointment would have to be considered and how long you are there. I would say somewhere around $20.00 per trip.
Try Logisticare and they might know more if they are not for your situation.
Usually I charge $15 an hour.
if you looking for some one that mean you have to hire. You know the need and wants. if she in need you have to hire someone for your mother. you will be stress free. you have find like me or any one who you can trust. or May be sibling?
I would look for more than one person. It will be hard to find one person willing to give up the opportunity to work and be productive on the days not utilized unless you are willing to pay them generously to compensate for their lost wages. As with any employer, use of vehicle should be compensated. Either offer to pay mileage or work in 2 or 3 dollars extra per hour as part of the regular pay.
You can post that job here on Care.com. Someone who is looking for that kind of work will reply to your ad. The cost would depend on the area you live in. If you live in California, you might charge more than someone who lived in Texas. I would ask around in your area. Hope this helps.
If its within 10 miles where u live it will be 16-20 an hour. It's depend if you use your own vehicle or the patient vehicle. Everything will be negotiate. Thanks
