I am fairly new to the world of being a PCA. I have have worked with the same boy (almost 13 now) for close to 2 years. I really feel great connecting with the really amazing people much of the world dismisses. I love feeling like I can pull out what really makes them feel amazing! My friend has the gift of memorization so twice a week he and I go to the local library so he can broaden his mental library of books. I enjoy making mix CD's that are tailored to his likes so car rides don't seem quite so agonizing. I worked temporarily in the special education classroom at a Community School. It was amazing to see the techniques and be trained proper lift and safety procedures. This is truly a rewarding field and I would love to set up an opportunity to meet the unique person in your life that needs just a bit of help to reach their full potential.
