I have experience with three different children that I had the pleasure to work with. One was with a very special 12-year-old girl with high functioning autism. It was my job to connect her to different communities and provide support in handling her surroundings, such as how to properly interact in a kitchen, or properly purchase items in a mall. I helped with assisting in the proper verbal expression of emotions and safe touching zones within personal spaces. My other two were severe cognitive disabilities (basically the brain stopped developing at 20 weeks). I was an at-home nanny for them, providing dinner, baths, and diaper changes for a 6-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, both siblings. One of which had a g-tube, used for meds and stomach venting. Both were also prone to seizures, giving me emergency preparedness skills and medical experience.
