I was Danielle's supervisor at a local elementary school for a year and a half, where she worked as an instructional assistant for students with special needs. Danielle's duties included delivering instruction in language arts and math, motivating students using positive reinforcement strategies, collecting observation data within the classroom, and providing supervision during unstructured times. She had to follow a strict schedule that involved delivering services within various K- 5 classrooms throughout the work day and was very punctual while doing so. Working in special education can be very unpredictable at times, but Danielle showed great strength in her ability to adapt to different situations and make decisions under pressure.
