I'm a 30-year-old female with a loving and certified therapy dog. I have an associate's degree and am a Social Work student with a special interest in children with special needs ranging from medical to physical and mental disabilities. The jobs I have had in this field include: A care-giver for a boy with Cerebral Palsy, an internship at a non-profit early care and educational facility, an aid in Special Ed at an elementary school and as a counselor at an adolescent residential center. I have practiced PT techniques, experience with wheelchair bound kids, used physical aids, performed bathroom and personal hygiene assistance, experience with feeding tubes, attended classes, appointments and extra-curricular activities, also run emotional processing and skills groups. I am fun-loving, creative and active with great communication skills. I love children and get great joy out of sharing new experiences with them, exposing them to new things and helping them learn. I love getting to know kids and helping encourage and develop their individuality, passions and interests.

I am an elementary Special Education teacher and Anne was a substitute educational assistant for students in my classroom. Anne was comfortable with students who had a variety of disabilities and was able to establish good rapport with them, attend to their needs and maintain a positive, fun rapport with them. She demonstrated conscientious and professional behaviors at all times as well with a natural confidence and comfort in her work. Full disclosure- I am Anne's mother.
