I am a compassionate, caring and attentive homeschooling mother of two. I have an AA degree in Communication, a BS degree in Psychology, and a MS degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I worked as a teacher until my children were school-aged and then began homeschooling them. I have cared for several elderly people voluntarily over the years without being paid. One was a family member, the others became family over time. I have assisted with meal prep, doctor's appointments, social outings, shopping, self-care, accompaniment through Hospice and hospital care, rehabilitation care, and nursing home visitation. I listen and empathize well and have many areas of interest that help me relate to the older generation. I enjoy and am interested in more old-fashioned pastimes such as knitting, crocheting, filet stitching, embroidery, candle wicking, quilting, canning, cross-stitch, hardanger, quilling, cooking, baking, flower gardening, food gardening and just about any craft out there. I enjoy music spanning many genres and instruments. I feel that I am a well-suited companion for an elderly person. Your loved one will be in loving care with me.
