Assistant Center Director - Burton
General Responsibilities The Assistant Child Care Center Director is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the child care center under the general direction of the Center Director and the Executive Director of Southwest Washington Child Care Consortium. The Consortium operates 31 child care centers in Clark County; serves over 1800 infant through school-age children and their families; and employs approximately 200 employees. Assignment and Location: The Assistant Director will work 40 hrs/wk, M-F at our Burton Early Learning Center in Vancouver, WA. Essential Functions include: 1.) Assist in supervising the planning of activities in the following areas based on the developmental needs of the ages of children at the child care center: art/creative, science/sensory, dramatic play, gross motor, fine motor/manipulative, language/listening library, music, blocks/woodworking, and cooking/snack. 2.) Assist in operating the program to meet the needs of the individual child with concerns for their interests, disabilities, special talents, cultural backgrounds, and individual styles. 3.) Assist in supervising the planning of the physical environment in well defined interest areas with sufficient resources and supplies. 4.) Establish and maintain positive communication using collaborative methods to problem solve and interact with families, children, and staff. 5.) Maintain a safe, orderly, clean, and healthy center environment; including administering first aid and handling emergencies. 6.) Understand and comply with state licensing requirements, state and federal laws and regulations; and SWCCC policies and procedures.
