Where do you start spring cleaning in your house?
I always feel like I need to clean closets but no one really sees them.
wherever you spend most of your time.
I like to start cleaning in the closets.
I make a list of items I want to accomplish, such as going through clothes or closets and purging or donating. I pick a room, any room, and start cleaning from the top down. You may want to do one room a day or whatever fits into your schedule. Also, I clean the room thoroughly before I work on any items on my list (if an item pertains to the room you're cleaning). :)
Open windows. Wash curtains. Wipe down table and chairs. Wipe down or dust other furnishing. Clean chair pads, if applicable. Polish table, if necessary. Create a pretty spring vignette on table! Dust any displayed china or serving dishes. Fan cabinet plant rug!!!!!!
I feel that closets should be cleaned out and organized regardless of whether or not anyone sees it or not.
Cleaning is cleaning....it doesn't matter if it's going to be seen by others!
my kid's closet and I will finish a room at a time before moving to other areas
I always start at the top of my home, which is the attic and bedrooms first. My rooms need to be dusted, winter clothing needs to be put away, etc.
The closets need to be done first because this is where you store your stuff even though no one sees it you do and thats all that matters.
I like to pull out my fridge, stove, and washer and dryer to clean behind them.
Bathrooms and bedrooms. I like to spend extra time on both, so I can really do a deep cleaning. Bring out the heavy duty cleaner, the handy scrubbing tool ---the toothbrush! in Bedrooms, dust everything, move all nick nacks, clean them and then what is under them. dust fake trees, shake out curtains to get more dust. Change the linens. And so on.
I find that it isn't for anybody else except you! Having a clean, well-organized closet makes such a difference in preparing you for your day. Same goes for linen & storage closets as well. Saves you time to know right where things are. Just my opinion
For a once a year clean, I would go through the closets... However, you don't have to do it with your spring clean! You can save it for later in the year if you'd like.
I start with the toughest areas, first. For me, that's the kitchen and the bathroom. Then, I go to the areas that affect me most, my bedroom and my son's bedroom, and then the living room. You could also go around the house, either left-to-right or right-to-left, or back-to-front or front-to-back. (In fact, I recommend those methods - mine is a bit piecemeal, and I am now reconsidering it.)
spring cleaning is generally your whole house closets, kitchens, etc every room in the house
For me, it is easier if I don't have to see the disarray. I do it for me, not for others.
Air vents, ceiling fans, cob webs, windows, and yes closets because I put up my seasonal decor and get out the next season,as well as winter clothes e,changed 4 summer. Clothes
start from top to bottom
I always start with cabinets and drawers! Then I make sure to scrub baseboards.
the rooms then work on bathrooms then living room then kitchen
If their are two floors than I start cleaning on the second floor from the master bedroom.
I like to start with drawers and cabinets.
I always start by PURGING.! Getting rid of accumulation of things you no longer need, and storing other things that you don't want hanging around, but don't want to discard. Makes it so much easier to clean and maybe re-design for a new season with a blank slate.!
clean them anyways
But I see and then I start with my bedroom and closets
Wherever you have the most clutter.
I usually start spring cleaning in the bathrooms, then kitchen because those are the most used rooms in the house.
