As a lady I feel it's very important to have a positive mentor or role model to look up to. When ladies get to a certain age sometimes it's hard for them to talk to their parents about situations they are going through. This leads them to go to friends with little to no experience with the situation themselves. I can remember many times I've made that mistake. As a growing lady we are faced with many situations that we have to decide that will make or break our future plans. I feel that I can be a phenomenal role model or mentor because of the many life situations I've experience and have overcome. I want to help prevent young ladies from making the same mistakes I did growing up. Many of my mistakes were simply because I didn't want to listen to my parents or other adults and I thought they wanted to run my life. As a teenager I also felt like they didn't understand where I was coming from or understood my situations that I was in. Being in a place now that I have a younger sister who's now in her young adult stage make me realize, (rather I want to be or not), that I'm a role model for her and I know how I was when I was her age and sometimes I see myself in my sister and I don't want her to be like me. I want her to make better choses than I did, and not have to go through all the bad things I did to finally realize the greater part of life. Therefore I feel like I have no choice but to live my life direct and not driven. A driven life will lead you to the road of destruction, when a directed live will help prevent you from traveling down the wrong path. While being a positive role model for my sister I can also make a positive impact in my neighborhood, church, community, city and nation, as well because everyone does not have the pleasure of having a bigger sister to look up too or a positive mother who can be there for them. My mission is to teach and mentor to the younger ladies, that you don't have to have sex or be involved in sexual activities to be known or liked. Younger ladies disrespect themselves a lot just to be notice and well liked which in reality they later find out they are talked down to, about, and disrespect by males. Ladies today fail to realize that your reputation follows you even after you graduate from school. I feel like it's my job, given by God, to tell my story to these younger ladies who are lost and caught up in this confused world.
