I have over 20 years experience working with young children as a babysitter, nanny, preschool teacher, and special education teacher. I love helping children become self-confidant, trusting, and joyful. Nothing is more intriguing to me than a young developing mind. Initially, I received a graduate degree in Child Development, and worked as a preschool teacher for children ages 2-4. Subsequently, I worked as a nanny for a total of seven years, with ages ranging from newborn to 5 years old. I then completed my degree in Early Childhood Special Education, working with preschoolers with a range of special needs; some mild, some moderate, some severe. I have always been closely attuned to every individual student in my care. I have never been satisfied with just providing the same curriculum for every student. I use my knowledge of a variety of curricula and theoretical approaches to best meet the needs of every child in my care. I use art, sensory materials, dramatic play, and gross motor play to engage every child. I thrive on the challenge of adapting activities for each child's interests and abilities. I always offer unconditional acceptance, patience, and consistency.
