I am a full-time single mother of two. My youngest daughter had seizures seven days after she was born and was placed on anti-seizure medicines. The cortex of her frontal lobe was damaged which caused some developmental delays, including fine motors and a speech delay. When she was about 4 months old I started learning sign language and teaching my then 1-year-old daughter in order for her to be able to communicate with her baby sister. My level of sign is very beginner/entry level but I am willing to learn more and can do so rather quickly. My oldest daughter was diagnosed with ADHD/behavioral issues, anxiety and insomnia. I have learned a lot through hands on experience just by being a mother and have always worked with children with other disabilities such as ADD/ADHD, bipolar disorder, down syndrome and autism.
