Years of being a foster Mom and adoptive Mom have given me years of experience with special needs children. My 3 sons have special needs as follows: 26-year-old bipolar, LDs, addict; 24-year-old very significant LDs, ADHD with very high H; and 21-year-old moderate autism including social skills issues and aphasia with significant disabilities and significant gifts. I have studied many disabilities and illnesses and the treatments for each. The number of evaluations and treatments sessions I have attended would be well over 500 including everything from speech therapy, physical therapy, and auditory testing to psychiatric therapy. This would include professional training for educating autistic children. Personally I am a "severe and persistent" asthmatic so have extensive experience with allergies and asthma from allergy DX to congestive heart failure and Xolair.
