I recently worked for a supportive living agency in Sacramento, CA providing support to people with developmental disabilities in their home and community to increase independence and quality of life. I feel that as individuals, we all have a right to living up to our potential, and people with developmental and intellectual disabilities have a right to be as independent as possible, and make important life decisions for themselves, as appropriate. I want to do the best I can to make sure everyone is able to live their life with dignity and purpose. This is why I want to work with people with special needs. regardless of disability, we are all human beings and have basic human rights.
