While I have a lot of child care experience, I do not have baby-sitting experience that directly deals with children with special needs. However, I have a family member with special needs that I have spent a great deal of time with over the years which makes me more sensitive to the issues that a person with special needs faces. Additionally, I spent a year tutoring a girl with a hearing impairment and learning disability, so I have an understanding and grasp of the level of patience and attention that can be required. I also worked short term as a personal assistant to a girl with cerebral palsy, assisting her with her morning routine.
