To Whom It May Concern: Please accept my application for the above referenced position. I have an extensive history of working with convalescence and rehabilitating clients in their homes and living in long-term health care facilities. I have worked to maintain a professional, safe, and hospitable atmosphere for my clients while assisting to relieve the family members of respite time. I have experiences in a broad range of care giving capacities such as personal assistant, homemaker/aide, and certified nursing assistant. I served as a personal assistant for a client diagnosed with Amyolateral Sclerosis (ALS) for two years. In this capacity, I was trained to perform a number of activities to assist the family. Not only was I involved with the daily needs of the client (bathing, exercising, meal preparation, and clean-up), I also addressed many of his medical needs. I was trained on suctioning to reduce congestion in his airways, flushing his pick line when he received intravenous antibiotics, and I assisted in transporting him to his doctor's visits. As a homemaker/aid and certified nursing assistant, I have worked with a full range of patients with various diagnoses (dementia, stroke victims, COPD, and quadriplegics). These patients allowed me to stretch my experiences and expand my knowledge in areas that helped me realize my abilities and desire to pursue a career in the medical profession.
