When I decided on a major in college, I immediately knew I needed to work with children with special needs. After my graduation, I obtained a job in the ABA field, as a behavior interventionist for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I absolutely LOVE this field because it so rewarding, and the kids I work with make this job one that I am passionate about. Though I work with a company in this field, I'm just looking for other ways to help kids affected with this disorder because I am so passionate about what I do. I analyze the behavior of my kids while implementing ABA strategies to help them develop and grow more adaptive living and social skills. I also serve my company as a Social Skills Group Leader, managing groups of 7-10 kids of all ages, contriving opportunities for them to grow social skills with their peers. I absolutely love what I do and I'm passionate about helping other kids with disabilities such as these.
