My love and extreme passion for working with those who with special needs unexpectedly began when I was 15 years old in high school in a class called Peer Tutoring. My sophomore through senior year in high school, every day one of my class periods consisted of working with the students in the Sever Disability and Life Skills classroom. I fell in love with everything about this class and the students immediately. By the end of my first semester I had come to realization that working with the disabled was so rewarding and life changing for me that my future career goals shifted entirely to keep this passion in my life. I'm currently in school working to become an elementary special ed. teacher. Besides working and spending time with the kids in peer tutoring, I have a great deal of experience from babysitting kids (ages varying 3-19), with disabilities such as Tourette Syndrome, Autism, Aspergers, Down syndrome, ADHD, and Rubenstein Taybi Syndrome. Before moving from Fishers, Indiana to Bloomington this past August, I spent more than most of my time for 3 years hosting at a restaurant named Bella Vita. This would be a great opportunity to further my knowledge and pay for my college.
