Hello- My name is Ben. I have had an autistic brother since the age of 8. This made me want to work with individuals such as my brother. I've previously been the senior counselor of a group home for developmentally disabled adults for the ages between mid 20's to early 40's. Following this, I am currently the medical coordinator for a similar group home and IRA residence for the ages of late teens to early 20's. I have dealt with many varying levels of autism across the spectrum. In addition I have worked with individuals with: PDD, NOS, slight/severe mental retardation, physical handicaps, schizophrenia , manic depressive/bipolar disorder, impulse control disorder, mute, diabetic, and extremely behaviorally challenged amongst many other diagnosis. I am certified to dispense medication including diabetic needs, am certified in CPR, and SCIP- strategy crisis intervention prevention for when an individual becomes out of control.
