I was a nanny exclusively for a girl for 3 years who had cerebral palsy, and limited speech. Her mobility was limited to scooting on the floor. I did physical therapy with her, practiced letters, and words, helped her with the dynavox and implementing new words and pictures in it. I have also cared for a child who is on the autism spectrum for almost 3 years. I am a confident, caring, and patient person. I understand a child's frustration in not being able to communicate, and getting upset. I get along easily with everyone, and strongly believe in communication between me and the parents.

Wendy was our nanny for 2.5 years. When we hired her, our boys were 1 and 3 years old. My oldest son had just been diagnosed with autism and a speech delay. We previously had a series of terrible experiences with nannies and daycares that were not able to handle him. Wendy saved us. She was kind, patient, loving, and fun. She was never late, communicative, and extremely trustworthy. She became a part of our family. She was always coming up with activities for the boys and taking them fun places. She left the house tidy and did the kids' laundry without us asking. My oldest graduated speech therapy, and he is now being tested for the gifted program at his school. I truly believe that having her as a caregiver contributed to his success. When my youngest started full day preschool, we didn't want to let her go. We still consider her part of our family. If you get a chance to hire Wendy to care for your kids, take it! She's an amazing nanny and a wonderful person (and we still miss her).
